(Real Life Poem) Temptation

TEMPTATION

What is it that overtakes, frightens or excites us

Why do we lower ourselves to show our own shame

We know that we shouldn’t touch that hot candle flame

Dripping with desire, is it worth the pain and the shame

Like fine dark chocolate sin melts on both of our tongues

The sweet taste of victory if we don’t mind the hidden sins

Yet is it worth the pain when in tears our wife says, explain

Our sins, her slit wrists, blood on our hands as she lay dying

(Spiritual Poem) Praise And Vanity

PRAISE AND VANITY

We praise who we are, not what we ought to be

Are we pleased with the mirror, the selfie we see

So vain, or just honesty, not really vanity at all

What we wish for most we worship, this we are

A beautiful bum, Silver Shadow in our garage

What we praise is who we be, who we really are

Put someone else first, you are an odd one this I see

DC-10, hitch us a ride onto the next large rock barge

Clone us but don’t donate a thing when were dead

So many a plastic neon star self-proclaimed as we are

Through personal praise and ego, a star we know we are

To whom or what is worthy, that we should ever bow or pray

We know we are so cool, yet we’re one heartbeat from the flame

Wake up dead with Hell’s heat licking our heartless shell of shame

To who is it now that listens to our prayers as we endure the pain

While we’re still breathing, our heart, mind, and Soul, decides today

Careful what we pray for, without humility we show the world our shame

(Spiritual Poem) Kodak Moment Of The Soul

KODAK MOMENT OF THE SOUL

Snap shot of our Souls taken this moment in our time

Picture taken, was it by the Angel of Death, or of life

People scan our chips so they say that they know us

Smiling eyes hiding in the shadows blade firmly in hand

Having a phony acidic smile pasted on their soulless grin

We have all chosen to be breathing in this time and space

Our future is now, last breath taken is now historically placed

Tomorrow is grace filled if inside ourselves we choose it to be

Take your mirror, look close, it shows our Souls hiding place

Ever been ashamed to your bones for things you’ve done

This point in time, this is the only guarantee that we have

Tomorrow, will we have respect or shame for our today

Will this snap shot of today define or end our tomorrows

X-ray of our Soul, will it be posted with a Halo of a Flame

(Philosophy/Poem) Shame

Shame

Shame is there really such a thing as shame these days

Shame, do you haunt the door stoop of our innermost thoughts

History, ancient wisdom, flickers of light and dark, the Soul searches

Have we lived the memories that our dreams replay for us at night

Bloodletting, holding someones last breath in your hands, live or die

What do you say to the relatives of the ones that we killed tonight

Shame you now feel because you chose to take their child’s last breath

To act kindly is to play the role of a fool in the eyes of today’s morality

How much of our soul do we give up to live the life that we chose to live

Have we acted with dignity in the days that the Lord G-d has given us

Think of having to wear the guilt and the shame of a deserter’s last name

Or, of having your Dad be the town drunk and your Mom the County Whore

Shame, do we sicken ourself via the depression we have caused our children

Is Shame an inbred part of the fiber which makes up our bone, skin, and Soul

Are there things that we have done that we will carry the darkness to our grave

Just like pity, ignorance, love, anger, and hate is shame a balance for the Soul

The ability to feel shame should be part of every human’s life, but, is it really
