Here Is A Bible Lesson About The Temple Mount And It’s Importance

Here Is A Bible Lesson About The Temple Mount And It’s Importance

I am going to try to make this article as short and to the facts as my writing abilities will allow. I know that many folks will not like what I will be saying but as the saying goes ‘you can’t please anyone all of the time, and some folks none of the time’. I did dig into Wikipedia’s site to get conformation of some of the exact dates and to back up my Bible and schooling knowledge.

As most folks know, the Temple Mount is located in the ‘old city’ of Jerusalem and it is the current site of the ‘Dome of the Rock’ and the al-Aqsa Mosque. Time wise the Temple Mount is a Holy place to the Jewish believers first, then also to the Christian believers, and to the believers of Islam. This location even though it is on land that belongs to Israel their government allows Islamic believers to have almost full control of the site. Some may say, why would Israel allow this, the answer is simple, Islamist violence. Any time non-Muslims set foot on the Temple Mount Islamic believers act crazy and rush to violence.

For those who don’t know the background information concerning what these three religions believe I will give you a quick history. The Jewish people were ‘The’ chosen people of God first but because of their lack of faith and adherence to God’s teachings God took away that honor and with the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ gave all people the chance of salvation. The Jewish people nor the Islamic people believe that Jesus  was ‘The Christ, The Messiah, The Promised One.” The Jewish folks are still waiting for ‘The Christ’ to come for the first time and Islam does not believe in ‘A Christ’. Christians believe that Jesus was/is the Christ and are waiting for Him to come the second time (the Second Advent). This is the location that Christians believe that Jesus ascended to Heaven in 29 A.D. and that this is the location where Jesus will rule the world once He returns and puts an end to the current system of evil and He brings down from Heaven the ‘New Jerusalem’. Jews believe that ‘The Christ’ when He comes for the first time will rule the world from there. Islam believes that their Prophet Mohammad ascended to Heaven from there in the year 632 A.D.

The first Temple was built by King Solomon and was finished in the year 957 B.C.. The Hebrew name for the Temple is Beit YHWH, which translates to ‘House of Yahweh, or Jehovah’. There were three Temples built on that location that in all covered 1,320 years. The first Temple was destroyed by the Babylonians in 586 B.C.. The second Temple was built from 538 to 515 B.C.. In the year 20 B.C. King Herod The Great expanded and renovated the temple and it became know as ‘Herod’s Temple’. This is the Temple where Jesus went to at the age of 12 when Mary and Joseph lost track of Him while they were in Jerusalem. This is also the Temple where Jesus threw out the money changers while referring to it as “His Fathers House.” This Temple was destroyed by the Romans in the year 70 A.D.. Another Temple was being rebuilt there when there was a large earthquake in the year 363 A.D. which destroyed it. After this time the people only built a wooden structure of worship there, this only lasted until the year 638 A.D. when the Muslim conquerors tore it down and they built their version of a worship center there. As I said earlier, this is now referred to as the Dome of the Rock along with their al-Aqsa Mosque.

Even though older Islamic writings do refer to the older Jewish Temples being located there, since the rebirth of Israel in 1948 modern-day Palestinian’s and their leaders deny the existence of those Temples. Many of these folks have been trying to deny the existence of Israel before 1948 denying that Israel has ever had any ties to the ‘Holy Land’ or the Temple Mount. People whom have any interest in truth refer to this evil as a “campaign of intellectual erasure.” If you have any questions on what I have written please leave me a comment and I will answer you.

The Bible’s Definition Of What Armageddon Is

The Bible’s Definition Of What Armageddon Is

There has throughout the written history of man a thought of our beginning, and of our ending. Hollywood has done some work in this era of lights, camera, action. Personally I like the version with Bruce Willis and the rock jump, pump and bump, with all the techno geek work they can do these days is cool. But outside of Hollywood productions or street corner preachers hollering out about hail fire and brimstone, what do we know or think we know about what the Bible itself says about what Armageddon is?

When I was a young boy I had parents that believed in Jesus and the Truth of the Bible. Mom was much better at teaching us kids about the existence of Jesus and who He was, by being a better living example of God’s love. I also spent my ‘growing up years’ (10-17) learning Church of Christ teachings, I am telling you this now to maybe help you better understand where I am coming from in my beliefs. I also listened to some Baptist and Jehovah’s Witness information. One of the things I noticed when I spoke with adults, including at least three Ministers and a few Church Elders and Deacons was that they didn’t really have an answer for when/what the End Of Time is, just that it was/is called Armageddon in the last book of the Bible (Revelation).

Most folks that I ever heard talking about the Biblical event of Armageddon in terms of today’s world have been thinking of a nuclear war between “world powers”. Truly any nuclear attack on anyone by anyone would be a horrible thing to have happen again especially with the power of the jute boxes they have these days. If possible, I would like to help put your mind to rest on such an event being “the Biblical Armageddon.” If it were possible that I could convince you of my peace being correct, I would certainly like to give you the same peace that I have been able to obtain because I am at peace that this won’t happen. I am not saying that human beings (some of them) are not above the ignorance it would take to be the first one to actually push that button. Unfortunately I do believe there are many people in the world today that if they could, they would incinerate whole countries and be gleeful, praising their god for the glory. If such a horrific event ever does happen, it would be beyond horrible, it would be gut wrenching even if it was a country you had no personal ties to, it would be sickening. But now, please flip the switch in your mind to the aftereffects, not just toward the poor people this happened to, but toward whom ever in the bleep was evil enough to have pushed that button. Though such an event would be world-changing, it would still not be “Biblical Armageddon” because I am going to get back on point now and explain what the Bible is telling us about “it”.

Please open your Bible if you have access to one to the last book of the New Testament, the Book of Revelation. Please go to chapter number 16 starting at verse number 12. Verses 12 through 16 will take place as an Angel of God opens up the sixth of the seven vials to be emptied upon the Earth. This is not a very comforting situation for any humans who still happen to be alive at this point in human history. Please read verses 13 and 14 carefully and slowly, several times. Folks we humans are going to/ and now are, putting our trust and faith in three different “people” who aren’t even human beings, they will be Demons. I am not saying that the human race will on purpose surrender lives and Souls to a Devil if they knew they were Demons. (I know some people are actually stupid enough to worship Satan on purpose, that level of stupidity is beyond my understanding though I pray that this number is only in the thousands, not the millions). Let’s get into what verse 14 says about what these three Demons are going to be able to do, they are going to gather the leaders of the world together to fight against…..Jesus and His Angels, this is the Second Advent (coming) of Christ. These “leaders” will quickly be cast into Hell (because they are Demons so they have already been given their judgement day and found guilty 19:20) leaving the now leaderless humans to suffer the wrath of God. Please read chapter 17:12-14 for a better understanding also. Now if you would please finish your thoughts after you reread chapter 16, verse 16.—“And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon”. Armageddon is when humans and their ‘Leaders’ physically go to war against God and His Angels and the people will be crushed like grapes in a wine-press and the blood will run to the horses reigns.

Living (1) Day Without Committing A Sin

Living (1) Day Without Committing A Sin

What is a sin? I would guess that this isn’t something that most people spend hours each day contemplating. Most people I would think are to busy working and pondering their chores they need to get accomplished each day to spend much time being philosophical about things like what is a sin. I really don’t believe that most folks actually care what a sin is or if they are committing some as they traverse through their day. This is of course unless we feel that someone has sinned against us, then we care, a lot of the time when we fill dissed by someone we tend to get angry about it. But yet, if we don’t consider our own actions as to how others take what we do or don’t do, aren’t we being a bit hypocritical? Sins can be something as simple as us letting someone down, especially if we lied to them. Yet there is a huge difference as to whether we let a person down by accident or if it was on purpose. If I tell my son that I will take him to his baseball game at 5 PM but I get tied up at work and forget all about the game I may have sinned/lied in his eyes, but is that a sin? To me, I say no, it was just an accident, something totally unintended. If I knew when I made the promise that I was not going to be able to get off work to take him to his game, then yes, that is a sin against my son, and against God. I say against God because when we know something is a wrong and we do it anyway, that is a sin counted against us and it is an intentional slap against God.

I checked with the online dictionary, Google and the Bible to see what they had to say as far as what a sin is, this way this article will be more than just my opinion alone. 1) The online dictionary says sin is: Transgression of Divine Law. A willful or deliberate violation of some religious or moral principle, a behavioral lapse or a great fault or offense. 2) Google says: An immoral act considered to be a transgression against divine law. I used these two authors of the definition especially for the folks who tend to only believe what secular man has to say about a word or an event. I know that there are some who really don’t believe what the Bible has defined something as, so I wanted you to see how close the online dictionary and Google matched up with the Bible definitions in this case.

3) What does the Bible say about what sin is? I got these answers from the index of my King James Version, the first thing it says is: disobedience of God’s law. I am going to forward you a few Scriptures to help you in understanding of the Biblical definition of the word/act of sin.

Omission of known duty.   James 4:17

Comes from mans heart.   Matthew 15:19-20

Kinds of sin: Secret   Psalms   90:8

Shameless   Isiah 3:9

Willfully   Hebrews 10:26

Of Ignorance   Leviticus 4:2

Transgression   1 John 3:4

Unrighteousness   1 John 5:17

In the Book of John 8:44 we are told that the sources of sin comes from Satan, the Devil.

Christ’s relationship to sin:

Christ takes away our sins   John 1:29

Christ saves His people from sin   Matthew 1:21

Christ washes (through His blood) us clean from sin   Revelation 1:5

Sin: is wrong doing; a transgression against God. We are told to lay aside our sins.   Hebrews 12:1

We are told to resist committing sins.   Hebrews 12:4

To guard the tongue. (To be careful about the words that come out of our mouth) Psalms 39:1

We are told to ‘walk in The Spirit’. This simply means that when we become followers of Christ (Christians) that The Holy Spirit, which is The Spirit of God indwells us and we are supposed to try to walk after the ways of The Spirit of God and not after the carnal ways of the flesh any longer. We all still have the freedom of choice, we can still choose to revert back to ‘living after the flesh’ if we so choose though it will be a very bad decision for our own Soul if we choose to do so.

I am going to close out the ‘Bible part’, (part #3) with something that the Apostle Paul tells us in the Book of Romans 3:28   “Therefore we conclude that a man is justified (cleared of all guilt) by faith without (apart from) the deeds of the Law.” (The Law was the Old Testament which was the “Law” to the Jewish people concerning how they should act, perform their lives.) By the ‘Old Law’ a Jewish person could be saved from Hell simply by following the Laws of God, they did not have to have faith at all to be saved, they just had to follow the Law. With the coming of Christ, upon His resurrection ‘faith’ is required for a person to be saved from the ‘second death’ which is eternal separation from God when a person is condemned to eternal Hell. For without faith it is impossible to please God.

Now #4: My thoughts on Sin and why I used the title ‘living (1) day without committing a sin. I know that some people think that it is impossible to go a whole day without committing some kind of a sin just as there are some folks who think that this is a very simple task. People vary on our thoughts even when it is on the same subject matter, even within one family. Sin, sometimes sin can be difficult to define. One person can look at a naked woman and simply think to themselves, ‘beautiful lady’. Yet another person can see a photograph of a woman in a long dress yet it is showing one of her ankles and become overcome with lust, wanting to have sex with her no matter what the cost, physical, financial or spiritual. In these two cases, which one sinned?

When I lay down to go to sleep each evening I always take a few moments to say my closing of day prayers. One of the things that I ask the Lord each evening is to please forgive me of any sins that I committed during that day. When I do this I often will think back to the events of my day searching for any know sins that I did, always hoping that I find none. When I do find sins that I know that I am guilty of it embarrasses me that I was so weak, I feel unworthy of even getting to speak with God about asking Him for forgiveness. I try to walk each day without any sin being committed yet the reality is that we often sin and aren’t even aware that we did it. Simple example being that we could do something that was taken wrong by a weaker Christian or a person who was looking at us as a Christian example and this action of ours caused this person to ‘fall away’ from Christ, we didn’t really do anything wrong but there was still a cost paid. Some would call this a sin, some would not. The thing is, the Blood of Christ washes away our sins and keeps us pure, if we are indeed walking after The Spirit and the Heart of Christ. When we are baptized with The Holy Spirit we are a new person, we belong to Jesus Christ, we are no longer our own person, we belong to God.

The reason that when the Second Advent (Second Coming OF Christ) happens and we are told that Christs followers will know His voice is because His Spirit indwells us, so of course He knows His own voice. Folks, because The Spirit of Christ (The Holy Spirit) is within us (He, Christ) examines our hearts and our minds to see and to understand why we did or didn’t do as we did in our lives. There is no fooling God. While we are living our life we commit many sins yet God knows when we were trying our best to not sin, He will forgive us, He knows that the flesh is weak. God is not looking for reasons to condemn us, He is looking for reasons to save us.

Do The 3 Abrahamic Religions Pray To The Same God? That Answer Is Simple, No they Do Not!!!

Here in the U.S. I have heard people make the statement that all ‘these religions’ pray to the same God, they just call Him/Her by a different name, so why can’t they all just get along? This statement would be nice, if it were true, but it isn’t at all correct. Mostly the people I have heard say this nonsense have been the Hollywood types or talking heads from the NYC area. People who make this assumption tend to be people who have no knowledge of what the different religions teach and usually have no knowledge of even the teachings of one religion. I know that here in the U.S. that the majority of the population tend to say that they are Christians simply because they were brought up with their families who were or said they were. Here in the States there are a lot of different Christian religions. Religions where they say that Jesus Christ is whom they believe in, even if they have not stepped foot in any Church since they were children, or maybe even never. You hear the divisions of ‘Christ’s’ Church a lot here in the form of the questions like, are you a Christian or a Catholic? Or, Catholic or Protestant. As almost all of you know there are many divisions of Christian Churches like Methodist, Baptist, Lutheran, Pentecostal and so on and on and on. Then there are the ‘Born Again’ Christians and groups like the Church of Christ, the Church of God and the Jehovah’s Witnesses, O, and let us not forget the Mormon Church. It is easy to see why people who have no religious upbringing or very little of it could think that all ‘Religions’ serve the same God. Even though the Catholic Church doesn’t teach exactly what I believe I honestly haven’t found a ‘Church group’ that does. Yet I am not going to stone any believers in Jesus Christ whether they are Protestant or Catholic. One of the many things I have never understood in life is how groups that believe that Jesus Christ is our Saviour and King can raise their weapons against another person who believes the same thing, in the name of Religion, in the name of Christ! This confusion isn’t just among Christian Churches, let God be the Judge, we are not qualified.

Now, let us go onto non-Christian Faiths for a moment. This article is about confusion and understanding, and hopefully, clarity. I know that this article is really going to upset some folks, that is not my intention. My intention is simply to speak the “Honestly Of God’s Truth” as I see it, understand it, and believe it, too you. The only real Truth is God’s Truth and His Truth is 100% pure Truth. Humans tend to dilute God’s Truth in an effort to make it fit what they want the Truth to be, that is why only God’s Truth is pure Truth, He doesn’t need to dilute anything.

I don’t know how much knowledge each person who is reading this has concerning Old Testament Scriptures so I will be as direct and short as I can in an effort to help people understand the connections. In the Old Testament (which was written as ‘The Law’ to the Hebrew/Jewish people) the first of the 3 ‘Founding Fathers’ of Israel was Abraham, then there was his son Isaac, and Isaac’s son Jacob. God would later change the name of Jacob to Israel. The 12 Tribes of Israel are named after Jacob’s/Israel’s 12 sons. Since the Book of Genesis but especially in the Books of Isaiah and Daniel the people of Israel are told of a Messiah/Christ/Redeemer/Saviour/Promised One, that will come and elevate Israel to the premier Nation on Earth and this Messiah/Christ will rule the Earth from a new Jerusalem that will come down from Heaven. It is believed that ‘The Christ’ will rule from His Throne upon The Temple Mount. I as a devout Christian believe this exact same thing. The big difference is that as a Christian I believe that the Hebrew/Jewish Messiah has already come in the form of Jesus (Yeshua) but the Jewish folks do not believe that Jesus was ‘The Christ’. You see, when Jesus came to the Earth in 4 B.C. to fulfill Scripture the Jewish people were looking for the ‘Messiah’ to come and remove the Roman Rulers from Israel and to set up His Kingdom then. When the people realised that Jesus was not here to do that many of the people turned on him. Jesus was simply here to fulfill what the Scriptures had to say about Him. Christians should not be at all mad at our Jewish brothers, sisters and friends for their ancestors killing Jesus as they did. First, God hardened their hearts so that they would do so and there is the reality that if Jesus had not done what He did and the people had not done what they did, none of us ‘Gentiles’ (anyone whom is not 100% of Hebrew blood) would have no chance of salvation at all. We would be no better than the dogs or pigs as far as salvation is concerned. (This is exactly what Islam does think of us Christians and Jews by the way.)

The Jewish faith and their beliefs are correct in that the Messiah will come from the skies and put an end to this corrupt and violent world that we all live in. Christians call this the ‘Second Advent of Christ’, in the Jewish faith they are looking for the Messiah to come for the first time. When Jesus comes for the Second time He will put an end to this sinful world and the ‘New Jerusalem’ will come down from Heaven and The Messiah will rule the whole World from the Temple Mount just as the Jewish people believe. The Jewish faith believes that all of us Christians are ‘lost’ and that we nor anyone else have any chance of salvation, only the Jewish people do. The Jewish faith does not believe that the ‘New Testament’ is the word of God. They believe in the Torah which are the first 5 books of the Old Testament that Moses authored and the rest of the Old Testament which is called the Books of the Prophets, some major Prophets, some minor.  The New Testament and the teachings of Jesus make it very plain that the ‘only way to the Father is through Him’ also that those who deny Him, deny the Father. As Christians we pray to The Father through Jesus and believe that this is the only way that our prayers have any chance of getting to the ears of The Father. Jewish folks do not believe in Jesus as the Messiah/Christ so they do not pray to Jesus and by New Testament teachings the Jewish people’s prayers have no chance of reaching The Father’s Ears. This would make the prayers of the non-believers of Christ worthless, just the same as someone who prays to Allah, Buddha or the Dali Lama, a dollar bill or as if a total atheist  prayed because they would have no faith in Jesus, nor do they believe in Him. Those statements are hard I know, but they are not meant to be hateful at all, they are just pointing out the honest differences. God has made it very plain that He will never ever abandon Israel nor His people. God is always looking out for the Nation of Israel and He always will. Salvation is to the Jew first, then to the Gentile. We as Christians as well as all other people of the Earth if they have any sense at all should always make sure to stand by Israel and Her people for they are sacred to God Himself.

The third of the Abrahamic Religions is the religion of Islam. As Abraham is the Father of the Jewish Nation and people he is also the Father of a boy called Ishmael through his Egyptian Servant woman Hagar. Abraham’s wife was barren until she was 100 years old so being Abraham had no heir his wife Sarah told him to lay with his Servant Hagar to obtain a son and heir. Not long after Ishmael was born God opened up the womb of Sarah and she had a son called Isaac. Sarah got jealous of Ishmael so she had Abraham chase him and his Mom away. Ishmael is the father of the Muslim people and he was of the loins of Abraham so yes, they are Abraham’s descendants. About 600 years after the death of Jesus in Jerusalem a man called Mohammad arose from the deserts of what is now Saudi Arabia and started a new religion in the cities of Medina and Mecca. Mohammad died in the city of Mecca in the year 632 A.D. but his teachings are the religion of Islam. The followers of Islam refer to God by the name of Allah. Do not be shocked that almost all religions other than Islam do not believe that the ‘Allah’ that they are praying to is actually ‘God’. Just as the Jewish believers believe that Christians are not praying to God when we pray to Jesus the Jewish people don’t believe that the Islamic people are praying to a ‘God’ when they are praying to Allah. Also, the Islamic believing people do not believe that the Christians or the Jews are praying to ‘God’ because they are not praying to Allah. Islam calls the Christian and Jewish people the ‘people of The Book’. In this they are correct, just as they know that Islam does not believe in the teachings of ‘The Book’ (The Bible). So folks, it is obvious that the people of the Islamic faith when they are praying to Allah that by the Christian and Jewish beliefs these people are just praying to the open air at best and at worst, they are praying to the Devil Himself. I am not trying to be hateful here in this article, I am just pointing out some very obvious truths between the three Abrahamic Religions where the issue is prayer.

Understanding The Biblical Book Of Revelation

The Book Of Revelation

Just as the first Book of the Bible (Genesis) is the book of the beginning of all things, the Book of Revelation (the last Book of the Bible) is a book about the end of all things. A term I have personally used quite a bit when explaining Biblical things about this “End” of all things here in Revelation is that what is being described is “the end of this current system” that we all live in. What we are shown in the Book of Revelation is the ‘fulfillment’ of God’s plan for you and I, us humans. Throughout the Bible, Old Testament and the New, there are many Books with Prophecies written within them. For me personally my favorite books of Prophecies that I really  like are the Books of the Prophets Isaiah, Daniel and Samuel in the Old Testament and the Gospel of John and the Book of Revelation in the New Testament. In case you have wondered about it, the title Revelation means “the unveiling or disclosure.” This Book was written by the Apostle John, the last of Christ’s Apostles and the only one that was not murdered for his teachings about Jesus. When this Book was written John was on the eastern Mediterranean island of Patmos, a rocky little island that the Romans sent nonviolent prisoners to, basically exiling these people there. The reason that this old man had been exiled there was because he would not quit preaching about Jesus. The New Testament was written in the Greek language and in the Greek the title of this Book is Apokalypis, the English translation is Apocalypse.

Revelation centers around many visions and symbols of God’s resurrected ‘Christ.’ Among the issues that are being explained to us is that only Christ has the authority to judge those who have lived upon the Earth and no one else. We are also shown that only He, through His righteousness  has the authority to remake the Earth and to Rule it for ever more. In chapter number one it is made plain to both the Apostle John and to us that it is the Lord that is giving these signs and wonders and information to John for all of us. In Chapter one verse number one it is stated that this Book is the Revelation of Jesus Christ and this is fitting being this Book came from Him and centers on Him. The Book begins with a vision of His Wisdom, His Glory, and of His Power. In chapters 2 and 3 this Book, this Letter, to us shows us that He and He alone has authority over all of the Church. For those of you whom do not know this, “The Church” is “The Bride” of Christ that He will be coming back from Heaven to Claim. In chapter one Jesus “calls out”  the names of seven of the larger Churches in Asia minor which is in current day Turkey. They are listed in a clockwise order as it was customary for important letters to be sent from one Congregation to the next, to the next in such a clockwise pattern. In Chapters number 2 and 3 The Lord spells out His issues with each one of these Congregations, He points out things that they are doing wrong and that they need to correct or they will be destroyed. This circular message is to the Congregations of God then, and to all of us now. The Lord is spelling out flaws in the Congregations that must be stopped.

When we get to chapter #5 Jesus is shown as the Lamb of God that was slain and is now alive and is worthy to open the ‘Book of Judgement.’ In chapters 6-18 we are shown how The Lord will pour out His Wrath upon the whole Earth for the sins that have filled the Earth. Chapters 19-20 explains to us that Jesus The Christ will return to the Earth in His Power and His Glory to judge His enemies and that He will destroy and condemn them. In the last two chapters #21 & 22, The Lord spells it out that He will come down from Heaven and Reign forever from the “New Jerusalem” which will come down to Earth from Heaven. This “New Jerusalem” will be located where the current day Jerusalem sits. In case you are wondering, when this is done there will be no current day Jerusalem, as Jesus told His Apostles in the 22nd chapter of Matthew, “there will not be one stone here left upon another.” Remember the surface of the Earth is going to be cleansed “melted” with a fervent heat, all the works of man, will be no more.

In this Book it is very obvious that it was written with a flavor of the conflict between the first century Church and the Roman government power of the time. It is also obvious that in the bulk of the Book/Letter, in chapters 4 through 22, that it is a Holy Spirit Inspired look into the events that will come before the Second Advent of Christ. This “Tribulation Period” spoken of is two sets of 42 months, or 84 months total which equals to 7 years. I plan on writing an article on all 22 chapters individually, this is why I have not gotten into more details about the different information contained within each chapter. This article today is meant as an overview if you will of the things I intend to spell out in the upcoming letters to you. For now I am going to close with a quote from Chapter 21 verses 3 & 4. “And I heard a great voice out of Heaven saying, Behold the Tabernacle of God is with men, and He shall dwell with them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be with them, and be their God”.—“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes, and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow nor crying, neither shall there be anymore pain: for the former things are passed away.”
