Revelation Chapter #11

Chapter 11 deals with the time period concerning the closing of the great Tribulation Period. This chapter has a total of 19 verses, the first 14 are speaking to us of the period between the 6th and the 7th Trumpets. The last 5 verses are concerning the sounding of the 7th Trumpet of God. In chapter 10 the Scriptures mentioned 3 Personalities yet to this point in time only one has been spoken of and that was the Angel who held the ‘Little Book’ and stood upon the Earth and the Sea. This Angel was claiming all of creation for the Creator of all things as it is only He (God) who has the right to do so. In these first 14 verses we will discover the other two Personalities spoken of in chapter 10. These other two are the ‘two Witnesses’ that will testify for God and against humans sins here on Earth after they come down from Heaven to Jerusalem. There is a TV program called ‘Sleepy Hollow’ that my wife and I like to watch that is ‘very loosely’ concerning the ‘end of days’ where the two lead actors are the ‘two Witnesses’. I like the show but I do worry a bit that some folks may think the program is actually Scripture based concerning God’s two Witnesses and reality is that the program and the Scriptures have nothing to do with each other.

Please bare with me now as we go through these 19 verses, this is a very informative chapter that I believe will help people to understand the truth behind what is going to happen.

“And there was given to me (the Apostle John) a reed like unto a rod: And the Angel (the mighty Angel from chapter 10) stood, saying, rise, and measure the Temple of God and the Altar and them that worship therein.”

“But the Court that is outside the Temple leave out and do not do not measure it. For it is given unto the Gentiles (non-Jews): They (Gentiles) shall tread under foot the Holy City (the New Jerusalem which will come down to Earth from Heaven) for forty-two months.”

“And I (God) will give power to My two Witnesses and they shall prophesy (preach) one thousand two hundred and sixty days, clothed in Sackcloth.”

“These (Witnesses) are the two Olive Trees and the two Candlesticks standing before the God of the Earth.”

“And if any man will hurt them, fire will come forth out of their mouth and devour their enemies. If any man will try to hurt them, he will in this manner be killed.”

“These (2 men) will have the power to shut heaven so that it will not rain in the days of their prophecy. And they will have power over the waters to turn them to blood and to smite the Earth with all plagues, as often as they wish.”

“And when they have finished their testimony, the Beast (Devil) that ascends out of the Bottomless Pit (Hell) shall make war against them (the 2 Witnesses) and shall overcome them and kill them.”

“And their dead bodies shall lay in the street of the great city (Jerusalem), which is spiritually called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.”

“And the people of all the kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and a half and shall not allow their dead bodies to be put into graves.”

“And they that dwell upon the Earth shall rejoice over them (their dead bodies), and make merry and shall send gifts one to another; because these two Prophets had tormented them that dwell on the Earth.”

“And after three and a half days the Spirit of life from God shall enter into them and they shall stand upon their feet and great fear shall fall upon them that see them.”

“And they shall hear a great voice from Heaven saying unto them (the two Witnesses), come up hither. And they shall ascend up to Heaven in a cloud and their enemies shall see them.”

“And in the same hour there shall be a great earthquake and a tenth part of the city (Jerusalem) shall fall. And in the earthquake seven thousand men shall be slain. And the rest shall be frightened and they shall give glory to the God of Heaven.”

“The second woe is past and behold the third woe shall come quickly.”

“And the seventh Angel sounded (his trumpet) and there were great Voices in Heaven, saying, the Kingdoms of the world have become the Kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever.”

“And the four and twenty Elders which sat before God on their seats, fell upon their faces and worshiped God.”

“Saying, we give thee thanks, O Lord God almighty, which is and was and are to come. Because You have taken to Thee Thy great power and has reigned.”

“And the Nations were angry and Thy (God’s) wrath is come. And the time of the dead that they should be judged. And that You (God) will give reward unto Your servants the Prophets and to the Saints and to them that fear Thy Name, small and great. And You (God) will destroy them which destroy the Earth.”

“And the Temple of God was opened in Heaven and there shall be seen in His Temple the Ark of His Testament. And there were lightnings and voices and thunderings and an earthquake and great hail.”

The Protestant Bible that most of us know as the King James Bible was authorized by King James of England in 1611. There were many books that were considered to be canonized (included) in the Bible that were turned down. Different ‘Christian’ religions like the Catholic Church added some of these other books in what we refer to as the Apocrypha. It is not just the Catholic Church that has chosen to add some ‘uncanonized’ books to their Bibles. This is true of the Eastern Orthodox Church, the Cryptic Christians of Egypt and several others.

There are two of these books that I would like to bring to your attention for a moment. These two are called the Book of Enoch (seventh in lineage from Adam) which even Jesus (Yeshua) quoted, and the Book of Nicodemus. These two Books do give us information in regards to these two Witnesses of God. I want you to think about something for a moment please. Jesus Himself was murdered, all of the Apostles except John were murdered, but he did die, just about all of the Old Testament Prophets were murdered, but they all did die. Everyone in human history has died, except for two men. These two men were ‘called up to Heaven’ while they were still alive. These two men were Enoch and then Elijah. I have found no Scripture that says the two Witnesses are these two men so this is only my belief but if I was a betting man (which I am not) I would bet a cold six pack of Pepsi that it is these two men. Think about it for a moment, both of these Witnesses that came down to Earth from Heaven will end up being murdered also, thus completing the cycle of life and death. It is possible that my thoughts on this are incorrect, but I believe there is a huge chance that I am correct. Does it really matter if I am right on this issue? No, not really, it is just input for you to consider if you so choose to.

Well friends, that is all for tonight concerning the 11th chapter of Revelation, I hope you enjoyed your read. If you have any questions please leave me a comment and I will get back with you, usually within 24 hours. I hope you are having a good week, stay safe, God’s blessings to you and all of your loved ones, shalom.

Revelation Chapter #8 (The Seventh Seal)

As we open chapter #8 of the book of Revelation our Lord Jesus The Christ is opening the Seventh of the Seven Seals of the Sealed Book which He had been given. When the Seal is opened we are introduced to the seven Angels with the seven Trumpets. If you have noticed it, the number 7 is quite heavily used within the book of Revelation just as it is a very popular number throughout the Old and the New Testament. Here we have spoken of the 7 Seals and afterwards the pattern continues with three more sets of 7. Yet there is also the same pattern like with the Seals where six events are grouped together then after a break then comes the seventh event. What the Apostle John was showing us by writing in this format is that all of these events are intertwined one with the others, they are not separate unconnected events.

These events are very scary without a doubt, but I do have great news for you, there is a way that these events will not affect you personally. You see, these events are after the Rapture, if we are faithful followers of Jesus Christ (Yeshua) we will already be in Heaven so the events going on here on the Earth will have no hold on us. Did you notice in the last sentence that I used the term ‘faithful followers?’ You see we must all be more than just hearers of the ‘Word of God’ we must all be ‘doers’ of His Word. Also there is the fact that we must be faithful followers otherwise we are not followers for without faith it is impossible to please Him. Amongst the things that Scripture teaches us is that we must be diligent workers for Him, we are told not to ‘bury’ our talents but to use them to expand the brotherhood of Christ. We are all ‘witnesses’ either for or against Christ, we do this by our daily actions. If we say we are Christians (followers of Christ) the examples we show to the rest of the world lets everyone we come into contact with ‘see’ what ‘Christians’ behave like. Everyone is always setting examples whether we wish to or not. Think about this for a moment please, your family members, your neighbors, your coworkers, and the people we come into contact with each day, if they know you are a Christian, or even if you go around telling people that you are a Christian, these people see how you actually perform your daily life. If you act like a donkey’s behind then you are being a ‘lukewarm’ Christian and Jesus says He will vomit you out of His mouth. You see, lukewarm Christians help discourage young and or weak Christians and they turn away new people from becoming Christians by their bad examples.

Here in Revelation we have read about the Seven Seals, then the 7 Trumpets, then the 7 Personalities, then the 7 Bowls of Wrath that will be poured out upon the Earth. Once we get into this chapter we are told what takes place as Jesus opens the 7th of the 7 Seals. It reads “And when He (Jesus) opened the 7th Seal, there was silence in Heaven for the space of about a half of an hour.” Friends, this is the proverbial calm before the storm. Chapter #8 only contains a total of 13 verses. I am going to type these out for the purpose of helping those who are not able to get their hands on a Bible at this time.

“And I saw 7 Angels which stood before God and to them were given 7 Trumpets.”

“And another Angel came and stood at the Altar, having a golden censer and there was given to him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all the Saints upon the Golden Altar which was before the Throne.”

“And the smoke of the incense which was presented with the prayers of the Saints, ascended up before God out of the Angel’s hand.”

“And the Angel took the sensor and filled it with fire from the Altar and cast it onto the Earth and there were voices and thundering and lightning and an earthquake.”

“And the 7 Angels with the 7 Trumpets prepared themselves to sound their Trumpets.”

“The first Angel blew His Trumpet and there came hail and fire mingled with blood and they were cast upon the Earth and 1/3 of all the trees were burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up.”

“Then the second Angel blew his Trumpet and there was a great mountain burning with fire and it was cast into the Sea and a 1/3 part of the Sea became blood.”

“And a 1/3 of the creatures which were in the Sea that had life died and 1/3 of the ships were destroyed.”

“And the third Angel sounded his Trumpet and there fell a great Star from Heaven, burning as if it were a torch and it fell upon 1/3 of the rivers and upon the fountains of waters.”

“And the name of the star is called Wormwood and many men died from drinking the waters because they were made bitter.”

“Then the 4th Angel sounded his Trumpet and a 1/3 of the Sun was smitten and also 1/3 of the Moon and 1/3 of the Stars; so as 1/3 part of them was darkened and the day shown not for 1/3 part of it and the night likewise.”

“Then I beheld and heard an Angel flying through the midst of Heaven, saying with a loud voice, woe, woe, woe, to the inhabitants of the Earth for reason of the other Voices of the Trumpets of the three Angels, which are yet to sound.”

These events that the Apostle John is telling us about are truly going to be the most horrible of times for anyone who is left here after the Rapture. It would be great if every human on the planet were performing their lives in the manner in which the Scriptures tells us we are to do. If this were the case then the only ones here on the face of the Earth would be Satan and His Angels, truly this would be a great case of left home alone. I know that there is no one on this planet that I hate enough that I would want them to be here when these events are unfolding, not even the man who killed my own Mom would I wish such evil upon. Friends, we as Christians must not be filled with hate toward anyone nor are we to be judges of others. Jesus is love, and it is only Jesus who will judge each and every one of us. Folks we all have an obligation to our family members, friends, neighbors and coworkers to be a shining light/example to them of being the best follower of Christ that we are able to. Please consider the words of the Apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 15:51-52 when he wrote “behold I shew you a mystery; we shall not all sleep (die) but we shall be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling (blink) of an eye, at the last Trumpet: for the Trumpet shall sound and the dead shall be raised incorruptible and we shall be changed.” Please consider another passage written by the Apostle Paul that I am choosing to close this message with to you tonight. “For the Lord Himself shall descend from Heaven with a shout, with the voice of the Archangel and with the Trumpet of God and the dead in Christ shall rise first.” Every day when we wake up we all have a decision to make concerning how we will choose to live our life that day, we all either choose good, or bad, if we die today how do we really believe we will fare at our own judgement?

The Book Of Revelation: Chapter #6

Revelation: Chapter #6

Chapter #6, this is where the beginning of the ‘Great Tribulation’ period here on the Earth begins. When the Apostle John was in Heaven (in his Spirit) these are the events that he beheld. Now, as Jesus (Yeshua) broke each of the Seven Seals of the Book that had been bound in Heaven that no one else could break, John witnessed the events upon the Earth as each Seal was broken. There are only 17 verses in this chapter, so I am going to type them down for those who do not have access to a Bible. After we read these 17 verses we will then break down each of the events so that we can have a better understanding of what we are being told.

“And I (John) saw when the Lamb (Jesus) opened one of the Seals and I heard what was like the noise of thunder and one of the four Beasts said to me, come and see.”

“And I saw and beheld a White Horse, and He that sat on him had a bow; and a Crown was given to Him; and He went forth conquering and to conquer.”

“And when He had opened the Second Seal, I heard the second Beast say to me, come and see.”

“And there went out another Horse which was Red, and power was given to Him that sat upon this Horse to take peace from the Earth so that people would kill one another. And there was given to Him a great sword.”

“And when He had opened the Third Seal, I heard the third Beast say to me, come and see. And I beheld, and lo there was a Black Horse. And He that sat upon him had a pair of scales in His hand.”

“And I heard a voice in the midst of the four Beasts say, a measure (1 quart) of wheat for a penny (1 day’s wages). And three measures (3 quarts) of barley for a penny ( day’s wages). But see that you do no hurt to the oil or the wine.”

“And when He had opened the Fourth Seal, I heard the voice of the fourth Beast say to me, come and see.”

“And I looked and beheld a Pale Horse: and His name that sat upon him was Death, and Hell followed with Him. And power was given unto them over one-fourth part of the Earth, to kill with the sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with wild beasts of the Earth.”

“And when He had opened the Fifth Seal, I saw under the Altar the Souls of them that were slain for the Word of God and the testimony which they held.”

“And they cried with a loud voice, saying, how long, O Lord, Holy and True, until you judge and avenge our blood on those that dwell on the Earth?”

“And White Robes was given to every one of them. And it was said unto them that they should rest (be quiet) yet for a little season (while),  until their fellow Servants also and their Brethren, that would be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.”

“And I beheld when He had opened the Sixth Seal, and lo, there was a great earthquake; and the Sun became black as sackcloth hair and the Moon became as blood (turned red).”

“And the Stars of Heaven fell on to the Earth, even as a fig tree casts away her untimely figs, when she is shaken from a mighty wind.”

“And the Heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.”

“And the Kings of the Earth and the great men and the rich men and the Chief Captains (military leaders) and the mighty men and the bondmen (slaves) and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and under the rocks of the mountains.”

“And (these people) said to the mountains and the rocks, fall on us and hide us from the face of Him that sits upon the Throne (The Holy Father/Yahweh), and from the wrath of the Lamb (Jesus/Yeshua).

“For the great day of His wrath has come; and who will be able to stand?”

Okay friends, that is the 17 verses of this chapter. I will now do my best to point out the definitions of some of the things written in this chapter that might be stumping a few of you. Folks, chapter six is the dividing point within the book of Revelation. But before we get into this break down I would like you to look up something that the Apostle Peter wrote in the book of Second Peter chapter #1  verse # 20 “Knowing this first, that no Prophecy of the Scripture is of any interpretation.” I am no different from many millions of you in the reality that God’s Holy Spirit indwells me, as He does you. All Scripture is given by the Holy Spirit, we all form the “Body of Christ” and like any body, it has many parts, many different gifts. Peter is speaking that no one Prophecy stands as an island unto its own. All Prophecy is given by the Holy Spirit and all Biblical Prophecy stands together as one unit, they are all pieces that fit together as in one puzzle, or one Book. If you think back into the different Prophecies within the Old Testament they fall into place, Prophecy is about the things that are yet to happen, about the future. Prophecy is not about the past, that is simply called History. Revelation is a Book of Prophecy, we are being told what the final chapters of the Earth and humankind is. I want to make this point as clear as I can, in the Book of Revelation chapters 6 through 20 are about events that are yet to happen.

Now, let’s start with that First Seal. The rider of this White Horse is the Antichrist. He is a fake ‘Saviour’, the people will be begging for help from anywhere they think they can get it. Wanting to be rescued from all the bloodshed and famine they will want peace at any price and they will ‘elect’ their own destroyer. Right now this world we are living in is ripe for the Dictators who are being elected freely by the people themselves. Look at the current leadership in Turkey, the Philippines, the so-called democracies in the Arab World. What about the current situation here in the U.S.? Friends, there will be no peace here on this Earth because the powers that be, the super rich, the super powerful survive through the chaos they themselves create. When they just promote one of their own to the Throne of their countries, it is just the same evil for the people, just with a different face.

The Second Seal, the Red Horse of War. The fake peace that the Antichrist of the First Seal was just a ruse, we all know the story, a politician promises the people one thing, then they get hold of the reigns of power and what the people get is a ruthless power-hungry Dictator. In the first Book of the New Testament, the book of Matthew please read chapter 24 verse 2. This is where Jesus tell His Apostles that where they were at, the Temple in Jerusalem, that there will be a day when not one stone will be left upon another. A lot of folks believe that the destruction of the Temple happened when the Romans destroyed the Temple in  A.D. 72. Folks, the people who teach this are wrong, the event that the Lord was speaking of had nothing to do with the Romans. The reason I know this is simple, have you ever heard of the Wailing Wall or the West Wall which is at the Temple Mount? Friends, this is part of the West Wall of Solomon’s Temple, there are many stones, one upon another still in existence. The event that Jesus was referring to, has not happened yet. For your own thoughts, what is powerful enough to level Jerusalem and the Temple Mount to where there would not be one stone left upon another? To me, the answer is obvious, is it really a secret to you? I believe an event like Israel deciding to go ahead with the plan to build Synagogues on all four corners of the Temple Mount would infuriate the Arab World and if one of them has nukes (Iran), they would use them on Israel, this is the only thing I can think of that could cause the event of which Jesus spoke of. What kind of “peace” do you think the world will be in when this happens?

The Third Horseman, when Jesus broke the Third Seal the rider of the Black Horse came forth. The Black Horse represents ‘mourning’. There are a few paragraphs of Scripture I wish you to read so that you will understand better what I am saying. These Scriptures are Jeremiah 4:28 and Malachi 3:14. After the arrival of the Third Horseman there will be a world-wide famine. Please read Lamentations 4: 8-9 “There appearance is blacker than coal; they are not known in the streets (they look so bad they can’t be recognized): their skin clings to their bones; it is withered, it is become like a stick. Those that are killed with the sword are better off than those that will be slain with hunger. For these wither away, stricken through for want of fruits of the field.” Famine and disease will be the norm in these times. The wealthy will still have their wine and their oil in these times just as it has always been throughout human history. Those whom have the most will be the least, and the last affected, just as it has always been. Yet these events, will be on a global scale, every Nation on Earth will be infected.

The opening of the Fourth Seal: The Rider of the Pale Horse. The Pale Horse represents plague and pestilence. When Jesus was upon the Mount of Olivet He spoke what has become known as the Olivet Discourse. Please read Matthew chapter 24: 5-8. Please take the time to read and understand these words the Lord spoke about the four Events are the Horsemen. These events are about to happen with the opening of the Fourth Seal, these events folks will kill a full one-fourth of the whole world’s population. If you used the population of the Earth today as an example, that would be about one billion seven hundred million people would die. Remember the Lord’s words concerning this matter: “Except those days be shortened, there would be no flesh saved, but for the Elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.” These “Elect” that the Lord is speaking of are the ones who have been left on Earth after the Rapture who have decided to turn to God/Jesus and believe in and to follow after the Lord and His teachings. Most people when they fall upon hard times and I do mean very hard times, tend to curse God and to turn their back on God and walk away from Him, a few do just the opposite, they turn to God in these times, these are the ones being spoken of here. If you honestly think about it, if the Rapture happened today, would even 10% of the people who say they are Christians be taken up with the Lord at that time? Do you remember in the “Left Behind” movie where even the ‘Preacher’ got left behind? If we do not have faith, it is impossible to please Him!

The opening of the Fifth Seal and the prayers of the martyred Saints. The Souls mentioned here that are under the Altar of God. These are the Souls of the people who have been murdered for their doing of God’s word, their teaching and living according to God’s word. These are those who lived during the time frame of the ‘Old Testament’. Please open your Bible to the Gospel of Luke and read chapter 11:50-51. Our Lord spoke on this matter “That the blood of all the Prophets, which was shed from the foundation of the world may be required of this generation. From the blood of Able (Adam and Eve’s son) unto the blood of Zacharias, which perished between the Altar and the Temple. Verily I say unto you, it shall be required of this generation.”

With the opening of the Sixth Seal, the Lord’s ‘Day of Wrath’ has come. But the good thing is for those still upon the Earth, this is the beginning of the end of the Tribulation period. These events though are horrifying just in reading them. Please reread chapter 6 verses 12-14, also please read Revelation 20:11 and the Old Testament Prophet Nahum 1:5. Friends, it is easy to see how pathetic and weak humans are and will be upon the Lord’s return. Folks, the Demons and Satan Himself have already learned this horrible lesson but we humans have self-induced blindness toward the word of God. We humans are walking hand in hand with the very same Demons we have chosen to worship and to serve and those that do so will be their servants in Hell for ever and ever. Folks, what we don’t know can and will do more than just destroy us in this life.

The Seventh Seal does not get opened until the beginning of the eight chapter so for you who want to read ahead and have any questions, go ahead and do so. I am never ever going to tell a person to not read the Bible. I wish that all humans wanted to see, understand and believe in God’s teachings to us. I do believe that time is running short for the human race, for me personally I know that because of my health that my time left here is very short. We all very badly need to turn our lives over to God. We all have flaws, we all make mistakes, none of us are perfect and God knows these things about us. Our lives come down to faith, what do we put our faith in? If we put our faith in our Creator, if we live our lives according to His teachings of love then we have no need to fear the events that will happen to us after this life is over. Lord willing I will speak with you soon when I do my best to breakdown chapter seven. Shalom

Revelation Chapter #4

Revelation Chapter #4

Chapter #4 only has 11 verses in it. These 11 verses break down into three different sections, or categories. Verses one through three is about the Throne of God in Heaven. Verses four and five are about the 24 Elders that are around the Throne of God. Then verses six through eleven are about the four Creatures that are at the Throne of God. Remember, the person that is writing this material to us is the Apostle John the things he is being shown are via an Angel of God. I have been debating whether to type out these eleven verses or to just explain their meanings to folks but I have decided to type them out for you because I realize that there are some people who may be reading this who do not have access to a Bible, I realize that there are some places here on this planet where it is actually dangerous to be in possession of a Bible so for these reasons I will take the time to type these 11 verses out.

Starting with 4:1 “After this I looked and beheld a door opened in Heaven. And the first voice which I heard was as if it were a trumpet talking with me, which said, come up here and I will show you things which will be in the future.” “Then immediately I was in the Spirit and beheld a Throne which was set in Heaven and one sat on the Throne.” “He that sat on the Throne was like looking upon a jasper and a sardine stone. And there was a rainbow round about the Throne, the color was like looking onto and emerald.”

“Round about the Throne were four and twenty seats. Upon the seats I saw 24 Elders sitting. They were clothed in white raiment and upon their heads were crowns of gold.”

“Then out of the Throne proceeded lightning and thundering and voices. There were seven lamps of fire burning before the Throne, which are the Seven Spirits of God.”

“Before the Throne there was a sea of glass which was like unto crystal. In the midst of the Throne and round about the Throne were four Beasts full of eyes in front and behind.”

“The first Beast was like a Lion, the second Beast was like a Calf, the third Beast had the face of a Man, the fourth Beast was like a flying Eagle.”

“Each of the four Beasts had six wings about him, each of them were full of eyes within and they did not rest day of night. And they were saying Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, which is, and is to come.”

“And then the Beasts gave glory and honor and thanks to Him that sat on the Throne, who lives for ever and ever and ever.”

“And then the 24 Elders fell down before Him that sat on the Throne and worshiped Him that lives forever and ever, and they cast down their crowns before the Throne, saying thou art worthy O Lord to receive glory and honor and power, for You created all things, and for Your pleasure they are and were created.”

Well folks, that is the 11 verses, now I will do my best to explain a few things within those verses to hopefully make them easier for some folks to understand. What John was shown was an actual open door into Heaven unlike with Jacob when he witnessed a stairway to Heaven (Bethel). Now Jacob did not go up to Heaven yet John was called up to Heaven. But notice, John was called up ‘in the Spirit’, the reason is simple, there is no flesh in Heaven, God, His Angels and all who are in Heaven are Spirits, flesh is unclean and will never be allowed in Heaven.

The Book of Revelation was written in the Greek language, in verse number one it starts off with the words ‘after this’, in the Greek it is written “meta tauta” this is written at the beginning of the verse and at the end of this verse. The meta tauta that John was speaking of was ‘after the Rapture’. The Rapture is the event where Christ comes back to Earth with His Angels. At that time the dead in Christ will rise first then those who are still alive that are and have remained faithful to Him will depart this Earth in the twinkling (blink) of the eye to be with Jesus. In the English Bible you will not find the word ‘rapture’, but then again, the Bible was not written in the English language 1,900 or so odd years ago, it was written in the Greek language. Disclaimer here, the New Testament was written in Greek, the Old Testament was written in Hebrew. Now back to the Greek, instead of the word rapture the Greek word was Harpazo which defines as  “caught up, raptured, or snatched up.” Well folks, I hope that this chapter was easy enough for everyone to understand, if you have any questions, go ahead and ask them. I will always do my best to answer them as simplistically as possible. I hope that everyone was able to have a good and a safe Christmas and for our Jewish friends I hope you had a great Hanukkah, good night, God bless.

Understanding The Biblical Book Of Revelation

The Book Of Revelation

Just as the first Book of the Bible (Genesis) is the book of the beginning of all things, the Book of Revelation (the last Book of the Bible) is a book about the end of all things. A term I have personally used quite a bit when explaining Biblical things about this “End” of all things here in Revelation is that what is being described is “the end of this current system” that we all live in. What we are shown in the Book of Revelation is the ‘fulfillment’ of God’s plan for you and I, us humans. Throughout the Bible, Old Testament and the New, there are many Books with Prophecies written within them. For me personally my favorite books of Prophecies that I really  like are the Books of the Prophets Isaiah, Daniel and Samuel in the Old Testament and the Gospel of John and the Book of Revelation in the New Testament. In case you have wondered about it, the title Revelation means “the unveiling or disclosure.” This Book was written by the Apostle John, the last of Christ’s Apostles and the only one that was not murdered for his teachings about Jesus. When this Book was written John was on the eastern Mediterranean island of Patmos, a rocky little island that the Romans sent nonviolent prisoners to, basically exiling these people there. The reason that this old man had been exiled there was because he would not quit preaching about Jesus. The New Testament was written in the Greek language and in the Greek the title of this Book is Apokalypis, the English translation is Apocalypse.

Revelation centers around many visions and symbols of God’s resurrected ‘Christ.’ Among the issues that are being explained to us is that only Christ has the authority to judge those who have lived upon the Earth and no one else. We are also shown that only He, through His righteousness  has the authority to remake the Earth and to Rule it for ever more. In chapter number one it is made plain to both the Apostle John and to us that it is the Lord that is giving these signs and wonders and information to John for all of us. In Chapter one verse number one it is stated that this Book is the Revelation of Jesus Christ and this is fitting being this Book came from Him and centers on Him. The Book begins with a vision of His Wisdom, His Glory, and of His Power. In chapters 2 and 3 this Book, this Letter, to us shows us that He and He alone has authority over all of the Church. For those of you whom do not know this, “The Church” is “The Bride” of Christ that He will be coming back from Heaven to Claim. In chapter one Jesus “calls out”  the names of seven of the larger Churches in Asia minor which is in current day Turkey. They are listed in a clockwise order as it was customary for important letters to be sent from one Congregation to the next, to the next in such a clockwise pattern. In Chapters number 2 and 3 The Lord spells out His issues with each one of these Congregations, He points out things that they are doing wrong and that they need to correct or they will be destroyed. This circular message is to the Congregations of God then, and to all of us now. The Lord is spelling out flaws in the Congregations that must be stopped.

When we get to chapter #5 Jesus is shown as the Lamb of God that was slain and is now alive and is worthy to open the ‘Book of Judgement.’ In chapters 6-18 we are shown how The Lord will pour out His Wrath upon the whole Earth for the sins that have filled the Earth. Chapters 19-20 explains to us that Jesus The Christ will return to the Earth in His Power and His Glory to judge His enemies and that He will destroy and condemn them. In the last two chapters #21 & 22, The Lord spells it out that He will come down from Heaven and Reign forever from the “New Jerusalem” which will come down to Earth from Heaven. This “New Jerusalem” will be located where the current day Jerusalem sits. In case you are wondering, when this is done there will be no current day Jerusalem, as Jesus told His Apostles in the 22nd chapter of Matthew, “there will not be one stone here left upon another.” Remember the surface of the Earth is going to be cleansed “melted” with a fervent heat, all the works of man, will be no more.

In this Book it is very obvious that it was written with a flavor of the conflict between the first century Church and the Roman government power of the time. It is also obvious that in the bulk of the Book/Letter, in chapters 4 through 22, that it is a Holy Spirit Inspired look into the events that will come before the Second Advent of Christ. This “Tribulation Period” spoken of is two sets of 42 months, or 84 months total which equals to 7 years. I plan on writing an article on all 22 chapters individually, this is why I have not gotten into more details about the different information contained within each chapter. This article today is meant as an overview if you will of the things I intend to spell out in the upcoming letters to you. For now I am going to close with a quote from Chapter 21 verses 3 & 4. “And I heard a great voice out of Heaven saying, Behold the Tabernacle of God is with men, and He shall dwell with them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be with them, and be their God”.—“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes, and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow nor crying, neither shall there be anymore pain: for the former things are passed away.”

Do All 3 Abrahamic Religions Pray To The Same God? That Answer Is Simple: No!

Here in the U.S. I have heard people make the statement that all ‘these religions’ pray to the same God, they just call Him/Her by a different name, so why can’t they all just get along? This statement would be nice, if it were true, but it isn’t at all correct. Mostly the people I have heard say this nonsense have been the Hollywood types or talking heads from the NYC area. People who make this assumption tend to be people who have no knowledge of what the different religions teach and usually have no knowledge of even the teachings of one religion. I know that here in the U.S. that the majority of the population tend to say that they are Christians simply because they were brought up with their families who were or said they were. Here in the States there are a lot of different Christian religions. Religions where they say that Jesus Christ is whom they believe in, even if they have not stepped foot in any Church since they were children, or maybe even never. You hear the divisions of ‘Christ’s’ Church a lot here in the form of the questions like, are you a Christian or a Catholic? Or, Catholic or Protestant. As almost all of you know there are many divisions of Christian Churches like Methodist, Baptist, Lutheran, Pentecostal and so on and on and on. Then there are the ‘Born Again’ Christians and groups like the Church of Christ, the Church of God and the Jehovah’s Witnesses, O, and let us not forget the Mormon Church. It is easy to see why people who have no religious upbringing or very little of it could think that all ‘Religions’ serve the same God. Even though the Catholic Church doesn’t teach exactly what I believe I honestly haven’t found a ‘Church group’ that does. Yet I am not going to stone any believers in Jesus Christ whether they are Protestant or Catholic. One of the many things I have never understood in life is how groups that believe that Jesus Christ is our Saviour and King can raise their weapons against another person who believes the same thing, in the name of Religion, in the name of Christ! This confusion isn’t just among Christian Churches, let God be the Judge, we are not qualified.

Now, let us go onto non-Christian Faiths for a moment. This article is about confusion and understanding, and hopefully, clarity. I know that this article is really going to upset some folks, that is not my intention. My intention is simply to speak the “Honestly Of God’s Truth” as I see it, understand it, and believe it, too you. The only real Truth is God’s Truth and His Truth is 100% pure Truth. Humans tend to dilute God’s Truth in an effort to make it fit what they want the Truth to be, that is why only God’s Truth is pure Truth, He doesn’t need to dilute anything.

I don’t know how much knowledge each person who is reading this has concerning Old Testament Scriptures so I will be as direct and short as I can in an effort to help people understand the connections. In the Old Testament (which was written as ‘The Law’ to the Hebrew/Jewish people) the first of the 3 ‘Founding Fathers’ of Israel was Abraham, then there was his son Isaac, and Isaac’s son Jacob. God would later change the name of Jacob to Israel. The 12 Tribes of Israel are named after Jacob’s/Israel’s 12 sons. Since the Book of Genesis but especially in the Books of Isaiah and Daniel the people of Israel are told of a Messiah/Christ/Redeemer/Saviour/Promised One, that will come and elevate Israel to the premier Nation on Earth and this Messiah/Christ will rule the Earth from a new Jerusalem that will come down from Heaven. It is believed that ‘The Christ’ will rule from His Throne upon The Temple Mount. I as a devout Christian believe this exact same thing. The big difference is that as a Christian I believe that the Hebrew/Jewish Messiah has already come in the form of Jesus (Yeshua) but the Jewish folks do not believe that Jesus was ‘The Christ’. You see, when Jesus came to the Earth in 4 B.C. to fulfill Scripture the Jewish people were looking for the ‘Messiah’ to come and remove the Roman Rulers from Israel and to set up His Kingdom then. When the people realised that Jesus was not here to do that many of the people turned on him. Jesus was simply here to fulfill what the Scriptures had to say about Him. Christians should not be at all mad at our Jewish brothers, sisters and friends for their ancestors killing Jesus as they did. First, God hardened their hearts so that they would do so and there is the reality that if Jesus had not done what He did and the people had not done what they did, none of us ‘Gentiles’ (anyone whom is not 100% of Hebrew blood) would have no chance of salvation at all. We would be no better than the dogs or pigs as far as salvation is concerned. (This is exactly what Islam does think of us Christians and Jews by the way.)

The Jewish faith and their beliefs are correct in that the Messiah will come from the skies and put an end to this corrupt and violent world that we all live in. Christians call this the ‘Second Advent of Christ’, in the Jewish faith they are looking for the Messiah to come for the first time. When Jesus comes for the Second time He will put an end to this sinful world and the ‘New Jerusalem’ will come down from Heaven and The Messiah will rule the whole World from the Temple Mount just as the Jewish people believe. The Jewish faith believes that all of us Christians are ‘lost’ and that we nor anyone else have any chance of salvation, only the Jewish people do. The Jewish faith does not believe that the ‘New Testament’ is the word of God. They believe in the Torah which are the first 5 books of the Old Testament that Moses authored and the rest of the Old Testament which is called the Books of the Prophets, some major Prophets, some minor.  The New Testament and the teachings of Jesus make it very plain that the ‘only way to the Father is through Him’ also that those who deny Him, deny the Father. As Christians we pray to The Father through Jesus and believe that this is the only way that our prayers have any chance of getting to the ears of The Father. Jewish folks do not believe in Jesus as the Messiah/Christ so they do not pray to Jesus and by New Testament teachings the Jewish people’s prayers have no chance of reaching The Father’s Ears. This would make the prayers of the non-believers of Christ worthless, just the same as someone who prays to Allah, Buddha or the Dali Lama, a dollar bill or as if a total atheist  prayed because they would have no faith in Jesus, nor do they believe in Him. Those statements are hard I know, but they are not meant to be hateful at all, they are just pointing out the honest differences. God has made it very plain that He will never ever abandon Israel nor His people. God is always looking out for the Nation of Israel and He always will. Salvation is to the Jew first, then to the Gentile. We as Christians as well as all other people of the Earth if they have any sense at all should always make sure to stand by Israel and Her people for they are sacred to God Himself.

The third of the Abrahamic Religions is the religion of Islam. As Abraham is the Father of the Jewish Nation and people he is also the Father of a boy called Ishmael through his Egyptian Servant woman Hagar. Abraham’s wife was barren until she was 100 years old so being Abraham had no heir his wife Sarah told him to lay with his Servant Hagar to obtain a son and heir. Not long after Ishmael was born God opened up the womb of Sarah and she had a son called Isaac. Sarah got jealous of Ishmael so she had Abraham chase him and his Mom away. Ishmael is the father of the Muslim people and he was of the loins of Abraham so yes, they are Abraham’s descendants. About 600 years after the death of Jesus in Jerusalem a man called Mohammad arose from the deserts of what is now Saudi Arabia and started a new religion in the cities of Medina and Mecca. Mohammad died in the city of Mecca in the year 632 A.D. but his teachings are the religion of Islam. The followers of Islam refer to God by the name of Allah. Do not be shocked that almost all religions other than Islam do not believe that the ‘Allah’ that they are praying to is actually ‘God’. Just as the Jewish believers believe that Christians are not praying to God when we pray to Jesus the Jewish people don’t believe that the Islamic people are praying to a ‘God’ when they are praying to Allah. Also, the Islamic believing people do not believe that the Christians or the Jews are praying to ‘God’ because they are not praying to Allah. Islam calls the Christian and Jewish people the ‘people of The Book’. In this they are correct, just as they know that Islam does not believe in the teachings of ‘The Book’ (The Bible). So folks, it is obvious that the people of the Islamic faith when they are praying to Allah that by the Christian and Jewish beliefs these people are just praying to the open air at best and at worst, they are praying to the Devil Himself. I am not trying to be hateful here in this article, I am just pointing out some very obvious truths between the three Abrahamic Religions where the issue is prayer.

Explaining The Prophet Jonah And His Famous Mission

Jonah is the Prophet of the God of Israel that is know in most children’s stories as the man who got swallowed by a big fish and was spit out three days later. The issue here was that God gave him a directive to do something that he did not want to do so he got on a ship going in the opposite direction of where he was order to go. This event happened in about the year 759-758 BC. God had directed Jonah to go to the city on Nineveh and proclaim a message to them that if they did not repent of their evil ways and change their ways that they and their whole city would be destroyed my God in 40 days hence. The issue here is that Jonah hated the people of Nineveh and he did not want them to repent, he wanted God to destroy them instead. Nineveh was a huge and powerful city that was known far and wide as a ruthless people and basic logic would have said that Jonah was probably a bit afraid of going there. This event would have occurred during the reign of Nineveh’s King Ashurdan the third (773-755 BC).

Jonah was born in the town of Gath-hepher which was about 3 miles north of Nazareth in lower Galilee. This would have made him a Prophet of the Northern Kingdom. This fact also meant that the religious leaders of Jesus time the (Pharisees) were wrong when they said about Jesus in (John 7:52) search (the Scriptures) and look; for out of Galilee there has come no Prophets. There is a Jewish tradition that Jonah was the son of the boy who Elijah raised from the dead. You can find this story in the book of (1 Kings 17 8-24). Jesus Himself did support the historical accuracy of this book in (Matthew 12: 39-41). In this Scripture is the only time where Jesus ever likened Himself to a Prophet when Jesus spoke of Jonah being in the belly of the whale for three days and that He would also be in the heart of the Earth for three days.

Being that Jonah was in northern Israel when God told him to go to Nineveh which was to his north-east Jonah thought he could run from God and His directive by getting on a ship and sailing west to  Tarshish (Spain). While Jonah was on that ship a huge storm came up and the men on board who were very superstitious started looking around to find out who might have angered “the God’s”. Jonah stepped up and admitted what he had done so he told the men to throw him overboard so that they could be saved, they did and the storm calmed down. When Jonah hit the water a huge fish (probably a whale) swallowed him whole. Jonah survived in the belly of the fish for three days. During this time Jonah came to grips with his situation and repented of his sin and the fish spit him out onto dry land apx 20 miles from Nineveh.

If you were a citizen of Nineveh think of this scenario for a moment please. From 20 miles to the south of your city a man whom would be physically quite pink from the acids of the whales belly walks through your city and out the north end while proclaiming one sentence over and over, “40 days and Nineveh shall be overthrown.” Much to Jonah’s irritation the King and all the people sat in sackcloth and ashes while praying to the Lord for mercy. After Jonah had walked through the city he found himself a good viewing spot on top of a hill to where he could see if God would destroy the city and these evil people, or not.

While Jonah sat there waiting God planted a gourd that grew quickly which gave Jonah shade from the heat and the hot winds. Yet early the next morning God made a worm that ate the gourd killing it. Jonah soon passed out from the heat beating down on him. Once he woke up he was very mad about the gourd dying. God used this event as a teaching moment for Jonah. God asked Jonah why it was that he was so upset about a plant dying especially one that he had not planted or nourished in any way. Yet he (Jonah) wanted God to destroy this huge city and all of its inhabitants? To make a long story short God did not destroy Nineveh at that time because the King and all the people repented. Two generations after this event God did destroy the city as the ancestors of the people reverted to their old violent ways. I believe that a lesson to us all is that we need to try to look at life and at other people in our lives through the eyes of the Holy Spirit. All Christians are a tabernacle in which the Spirit of God resides and we should always try to see through His eyes, not through the eyes of humans.

Who Are The Two Prophets Of The Book Of Revelation?

In the last book of the Christian Bible, the book of Revelation in the 11 chapter in verses 3 through 12 we are told of two Prophets that God will send to the Earth during the first half of the “great tribulation”. This will be during the time between the sounding of the sixth and of the seven trumpets that will be sounded from Heaven. These two men will be here on Earth just outside of Jerusalem for 42 months and they will be hated by the people because of the torments they put upon the Earth. After the 42 months the Devil will kill them and their bodies will lay in the street for three and a half days and the people will rejoice because of their deaths. But after the three and a half days God will raise them up upon their feet in front of their enemies and call them back up to Heaven, shortly after there will be a great earthquake and ten percent of the city shall fall and thousands will die from it. Today I am going to speak with you about who these two Prophets are, and where they came from.

Throughout both the New and the Old Testaments all but two people died while here on the Earth. Most people can tell you about one of them, the Prophet Elijah, but do not know of the other. By the way, the name Elijah in Hebrew means “Yahweh is God”. The story of Elijah being called up to Heaven is found in the book of 2nd Kings verses 1-15, this would be in the 6th century BC., the actual verse is #11. In case a few of you are wondering, no Elijah wasn’t God. In a lot of nations and cultures people are given names that actually have a meaning, a definition, unlike white folks names here in America that have no meaning behind them.

The other man who did not die while he was upon the Earth was named Enoch, he was five generation from Adam. You can find the story of Enoch in Genesis, the first book of the Bible in the 5th chapter. Enoch lived for 65 years and then his wife gave birth to a son named Methuselah who lived longer than any recorded human, 969 years. After the birth of Methuselah Enoch lived another 300 years. In Genesis 5:24 the passage says “Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.) In the New Testament book of Luke 3:37 we are told that Methuselah was an ancestor to Christ so obviously Enoch was also. If you are wondering when in history theses events happened remember the 969 years that Methuselah lived? Noah was after his time on Earth was over. The terms used in Genesis 6:9 are like the words spoken about Enoch in 5:24,”… Noah was a just man and perfect in his generation, and Noah walked with God.” The difference here is that Noah was not taken by God, Noah continued to live and had three sons that went with him when he built the Ark. Enoch is easy to forget about because his life was so long ago and not all that much is written about him unlike the Prophet Elijah over 4000 years later.

Throughout all of recorded time of the human race all but these two people have died. Even Jesus Himself had to die while He was here in human form. Almost all of the recorded Prophets of the Old Testament were murdered as Jesus was yet even the few who did not get murdered, except for these two, they all still died, even Moses the “friend of God, died. In the New Testament all of the Apostles except for the Apostle John were murdered, yet even John did die. John wrote the book of Revelation while on the Roman prison island of Patmos in the years of 95-96 AD. This was apx 30 yrs after the Romans executed the Apostles Paul (AD 64) and Peter (AD 68) just outside of Rome. John, Moses, and all the other devout followers of God had to suffer death, except for these two Old Testament men, Enoch and Elijah. In Revelation chapter 11 verse’s 3 and 4 it reads, (God speaking) ” And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy (preach) a thousand two hundred and three score day, (3 1/2 yrs) clothed in sackcloth.” These are the two olive trees and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the Earth”. They came from God and they will go back to God. Could I be wrong about these two men being Elijah and Enoch? Does the Bible anywhere spell it out in plain Greek or Hebrew that it is these two? No, it doesn’t. Could I possibly be wrong about it being these two, it’s possible, but from all the information given to us in the Bible there is nothing else that comes close to making any sense. The Lord has made it very plain that He does not want His followers to be ignorant or uninformed. We are told plainly that He wants us to study the Scriptures daily so that we will know what they say.

Before I put these posts in that I write I spend a lot of time in prayer, praying for His guidance through His Spirit which indwells His believers/followers. I have spent right at 50 years studying the Scriptures and I know that every time I read through them my eyes are opened to more knowledge from them. Did God Himself talk to me and tell me in a “voice” that these are the two Prophets of Revelation? No, but I have told you now what He has told me, and all of us, through His Scriptures. Will this one piece of information save anyone’s Soul? No, but if it will get anyone to dig into the Scriptures to try to prove me incorrect, then I have accomplished my goal. The goal of getting more folks to think and to open their Bible for the purpose of learning of God’s Word and of God’s love for us all.

Who Is The “Watchman” Of Your Soul, Anyone?

Before I write articles to put into this blog I always have a prayer session with the Son  and the Father through the Spirit of God. I know that of my own accord I am not wise enough to give any advice, I need the knowledge that the Lord’s Spirit gives to us humans when we seek it. For the Lord does not do His will in secret, nor is His word hidden from us. The Lord is the Light that no evil can stand before. Come study the word of the Lord with us. Let His love shine upon all of our hearts and let Him enlighten our Souls. The reason, I pray is that none of us would be a Watchman who is found sleeping at the Lord’s return (Second Advent of Christ).

Folks, unless the Lord is the foundation and the builder of our family, the house of ones own life, then all the labor that has gone into it is in vain. Just as with the truth, that unless the Lord is the protector of your community, city, or country, the Watchman stays awake in vain. If you happen to have a Bible handy, please turn to the 3rd chapter of the book of Ezekiel in the Old Testament so that you can verify these things I am speaking with you about. Ezekiel was born in the year 622 B.C. and his name in the Hebrew language means ‘may God strengthen him’. He is the Prophet that was giving the warning to the House of Israel that God was going to destroy Jerusalem via a foreign military power if Jerusalem did not return to following God’s teachings, yet the King and the other leaders refused to listen to his warnings. Ezekiel was sent by God to be a Watchman and in the third chapter you get a very good description of the job of a Watchman.

In our society today when we hear the term Watchman we tend to think of a Security Guard. A person who is paid to watch over a factory, warehouse or an office building. Some people, some businesses, only employ a Watchman during the night-time or only on the weekends when they are closed. Other businesses with more to lose will employ Watchmen/Security, on a 24/7/365 days a year schedule. These Watchmen are hired to help the owners feel more safe, more protected from the bad folks in the world as well as for security from things like fires. These Watchmen are there to protect the property and the flesh. If a problem arises and the Watchman does not protect by sounding the alarm, when the fire is over and the smoke has cleared this Watchman, this Security Guard, is going to be in a lot of trouble. You know that the owner of the property is going to be irate because his ‘Guard’ did not do his job, he did not protect the owner’s property. Most likely this ‘Watchman’ besides losing his job is going to have to answer to the Sheriff and a Judge.

Now, speaking in a Spiritual since it is a Biblical truth that to whom much is given, much is required of them by God Himself. To those whom knowledge is given it is required of them to be a mouthpiece and a light for those who are living in darkness regarding what Spiritual truth is. If you are a leader in a Church, a Deacon, Elder, or Pastor, much is required of you. These positions in the Church are not just positions created by a man or woman so that they/you can receive glory or praise from mankind! These are positions of responsibility and accountability from God Himself! If you hold one of these positions you are a Watchman of God’s Bride, the Church. If the Bride is unfaithful and unclean at the return of the Groom which is Jesus Himself, I would not want to be you. You need to understand that the blood of the Lost Sheep which is the members of the Congregation, the Church, The Bride, will be upon your hands. You are the Watchman that was anointed by God and you are accountable to God for those people s Souls. To he whom much is given, much is required of you.

I do have a few more things that I would like to speak with you about. If you are a Christian the Holy Spirit of God indwells within you, He is The Comforter of the Christian person. It is true that the Spirit is willing but that human flesh is weak. For many people it is difficult to be a witness for Jesus in our daily lives yet in reality we all do it every day. Do you find yourself thinking now wait a minute, what are you talking about? Friends the answer to this is very simple, all Christians are Watchmen for the Lord. Have I confused you yet? Okay, let me break this down and make it more plain for all of us to understand.

Even if we are not leaders within a Congregation we are all still Watchmen for God. Are you a member of a family? Do you have a spouse of children at you home? Do you have any extended blood family that doesn’t live in your home? Do you even know who your neighbors are, or, do you have any coworkers at your place of employment? Here is a truth for all of us, if we are a Christian we are a light of God. You are one of God’s Watchmen! If we take our God-given talents and hide them in the sand how is it that we think that Jesus won’t be mad at us upon His return? I am not speaking of gold or silver, I am not speaking of human material talent or treasure that you are in danger of losing, I am speaking about you Soul.

We are all a light for God, we are all Watchmen over the lives and Souls of those we are in contact with. Even if we say nothing to a person our ‘Light’ should draw people’s attention, and it does. What I mean by this is simple, Christians should always, everyday be doing their very best to walk our lives after the heart and face of Jesus Christ. By our living examples we should standout from the ways of the world. If we do not by our examples witness to the world around us positively then we are still witnessing about our own lack of faith. The people around us still see our Light even if that Light is being hidden under a facade. When these people around us die and go to their personal judgement at the feet of Christ and they get condemned to Hell do you really think that their blood will not be laid upon you at your judgement?

When we are all at the Judgement Seat of Christ after we die we are all going to be questioned about everything that we have ever done, or not done. Will the blood of all of our family members, friends and loved ones be poured out upon our head? Do we really care about anyone other than our own selves? We will all be questioned about the people that we have come in contact with during our lives as to why we did or did not shine a true Christian Light to guide these folks to the salvation Jesus Christ offers us all. What kind of example are we setting? What kind of Watchman are we? What kind of Light and Servant of God are we? Folks when we stand before the Lord Jesus at our own judgement only the pure and total truth we will hear, but will the truth save us, or condemn us?

The Yokes That Are Laid Upon All Of Us

Tonight I am going to write this article to you about and of the word yoke. I am going to speak to you of the literal and of the spiritual forms of this word. In Mr. Websters Dictionary you find the definition written as “A wooden bar put across the necks of two animals to hold them together to plow. A bond or tie, to put on a yoke, to couple, unite.” In my King James version (KJV) of the Bible, in its index the word yoke is used figuratively in a few places also. There are seven examples given that I would like to touch on. In the book of Deuteronomy 28:47-49 God spoke to the people of Israel through His servant Moses because they had refused to follow the commandments that God had already given them. Please consider God’s words to the people of Israel. “Because you have not served the Lord you God with joyfulness and with gladness of heart for the abundance of all your things. Therefore you shall serve your enemies which I shall send against you. I shall send a nation against you. You shall be hungry and thirsty and naked and in want of all things: And he shall put a yoke of iron upon your neck until he has destroyed you. I shall bring a nation against you from afar, from the end of the earth, as swift as an eagle fly’s: A nation whose language you will not understand.”  Now, readers if you do not believe that the Lord is capable of anger and fury upon the nation of Israel who are ‘His chosen people’ then please read on through verse 63. If you can picture these horrific conditions in your mind’s eye. For those of you whom do not believe that God would pour out His wrath upon His creatures that He has made simply do not know what the Scriptures say, or they simply do not choose to believe that the Bible is God’s word. Please read, learn and understand your Creator a little better. Ignorance is not beautiful and ignorance will cost you your own life twice.

In the book of First Kings 12: 4-14 you find another type of yoke, the type that a King or government can put upon their own people and some of the consequences there of. After the death of King Solomon who was the son of King David had died his son Rehoboam was made King of Israel. The people of Israel came to their new king and asked that the physical and financial burden lightened from that which his dad had placed upon them. The new king consulted with the older men whom had been consultants for his dad and they told him that it would be a good idea to listen to the people and lighten his yoke upon them. Unfortunately the new king also consulted his friends that he grew up with and they told him that he should instead greatly increase their burdens. When the people came back to hear what the king had to say they were told that un-wisdom of his young friends. The people then told the king that they would no longer have anything to do with the ‘House of David’ and left. Jerusalem is located in the tribal land of Judah which is in southern Israel so the ten northern tribes removed themselves from the alliance with the only other of the twelve tribes staying loyal to the new king was the tribe of Benjamin. Cause and effect folks, for each action there tends to be a reaction. In the book of Jeremiah 27:8 you see the term yoke used in regard to one Nation upon another Nation because of them not following the Lords will.

In the book of Lamentations 1: 12-19 you see where the Lord laid a horrible yoke upon Judah and Jerusalem because they had turned their back on the Lord and His commandments and chose instead to serve sin. In a very real sense the Bible is a history book for all people to learn from because if we do not learn from our ignorance and stupidity, we do tend to repeat those errors again and again. We humans refuse to learn then we sit and wonder why our Lord is allowing us to be treated so badly. This is a truth that isn’t exclusive to 3,000 years ago, if we choose to act evil and stupid God does place burdens upon us today that if we preformed our lives in a more Godly manner we would not be having to face. If a father or mother will not chasten and correct their own child then they do not love the child.

In Galatians 5: 1 the Apostle Paul wrote “stand fast therefore in the liberty wherein Christ has made us free and do not get entangled again with the yoke of bondage.” You see, the Old Testament is the ‘old law’ to the house of Israel. This Law is of the commandment’s that the people of Israel had to obey just like what a government or police agency does today. A person before the time of the resurrection of Christ could be saved from Hell’s fire and torment if they simply obeyed the commandments so in a sense, he could save himself as long as he did as told. In the first century A.D. the Christian religion was against the law of the Roman Empire and because they were being drug out of their homes and killed there were many of the Jewish converts that wanted to go back to the old law so that they would not be killed by the Jewish authorities and the Romans. Paul was telling them that they could not go back to the old ‘yoke’ of Judaism and still be saved from the second death which is Hell, the separation from God is the second death. We are all saved by the law of the Grace of God since Christ arose from the dead. Just obeying the commandment’s of God is not enough any longer because if we do not love God and have faith in Him, we are dead already.

During the ‘Old Law’ the Hebrew people were forbidden to marry outside the ‘House of Israel’. In the book of 2nd Corinthians 6: 14 the Apostle Paul spoke of the yoke of hardship that is placed upon a Christian who marries outside the Christian faith but he nor God disallowed it any longer. We are also told that if you are married to a non-Christian and that person chooses to leave you to just let them go. This is their sin and their sin is not going to be held against you but we are all commanded to act in a Christian manner in our marriage even when we are not married to a Christian.

I am going to close this post tonight with something that I have never done in any of my posts before. These words you will be able to find in the book of Matthew 11: 28-30. These are words from Jesus/Yahshua (the Hebrew translation) to everyone whom would ever be on Earth from that moment forward. “Come unto me all ye that labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn of me: for I am meek and lowly in heart and you shall find rest unto your Souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” With these words, the words of the Savior of the whole world, our Lord and your Lord Jesus Christ, I bid you goodnight.
