(Honesty Poem) Life Is Filled With Breathless Moments

Breathless

(FROM MAY OF 17)

Breathless as the womb expands

Breathless till child’s bottom receives it’s very first hand

The cry all parents long for, music to all Elders hearts

The only time we ever wish to hear our child cry

The child grows from crawling then walking

As all the parents hold their breath

Watching and wondering and waiting

What choices will our little angel make

Breathless anticipation, the good we hope for

The bad we pray they will learn from

And never again let it darken their face

As age takes hold of our bodies

We look back upon the life that we lived

Traveling our nation’s highways

In the motor home that our child did give

The vistas of God’s beauty surrounds us

Breathless beauty, where man’s footprint seldom tread

Nearly breathless as we are but a step or two

From the calling of the earth, the destiny we all will face

Breathlessly we look back one last time for memories

At the beauty of our children and their children and theirs again

Death has only a minute sting as we lay breathlessly in God’s earth

Knowing at His trumpet we will fully see our good and the bad

Breathlessly, hoping to behold our loved ones faces once again

Breathlessly hoping for a smile, not anger, upon our Creators face

Poem Of Honor And Remembrance: 88 Tomorrow

88 TOMORROW

Mom, tomorrow you will be turning 88 in my heart and mind

At 69 a reckless driver did take your heartbeats away from us

In Mind, Heart and Soul your still with us every day we breathe

Your life here ended so quick I hope that you suffered no pain

10 Minutes before you left I got to speak with you one last time

Age gives humans certain handicaps, as it deteriorates our body

Wrinkles and physical infirmities do scar the face of our youth

We get declining strength and some of us even do go blind

The real crime of age though is when disease destroys our mind

For the memories of our loved ones smiles are what keeps me sane

Yet age does also give us glories like wisdom and vast maturity

Now Spiritual Maturity becomes how we discern ones true beauty

With age our Faith does grow strong along with judging fairer

You know I am no doubting Thomas, we will see each other again

Turning 88 Tomorrow, I still love you now as I loved you way back when

Are You Ever An ‘Airhead’ While In Prayer, Or Are Those A ‘Trance’ Or ‘In The Spirit’?

Are You Ever An ‘Airhead’ While In Prayer, Or Are Those A ‘Trance’ Or ‘In The Spirit’?

I’m just asking a question here folks, I’m definitely not trying to be judgmental. But once in a while do you find that while in a quiet personal prayer, that your mind has wondered? Had skipped away in total accident with no wish or intent, to someplace else in your mind? You know that of all times that you/I would always want to be at our best spiritual, physical and mental behavior is when we are having a ‘private moment’ with God, right? When I have done that, skipped off somewhere else in my mind while in prayer, up till this evening I have been upset with and/or disappointed with myself when I realize what I had done, again. I have wondered sometimes if this is what some folks refer to as being in some type of trance, or is it being a stoner and zoning out? Or, is it possible that while in these quiet moments that while we were in prayer, that when this happens that we fell asleep? Whew, hope not. This is one of those cases where I cannot answer for other folks, this is a private individual thing between our self and God and most assuredly, He knows the answers. For the folks in the world that have no faith at all a good many of them must think that those of us who prefer to pray quietly several times a day are out of tune anyway. Yet for those of us who do believe in a loving and all-powerful God and Creator of all of us, faith is all we have got, yet it is all that we need, any of us. When we pray do we have the faith that we are communicating directly with God through His Own Spirit that indwells the Believers? So, how important is it when we are in a silent prayer with God? How important is it that we stay ‘on tune’ during those times? Well, I guess, that’s up to each one of us privately with ourselves, and of course, also on how it is that God looks at these mental phenomenons. This is just my thought for the evening, hope it gave you a thought or two as you were reading it.

When The Wisest Man Who Ever Lived (king Solomon): Was Just Plain Stupid

When King Solomon was this stupid, what chance do the rest of us have?

If you are a person who believes the stories that are written in the Bible to be truthful, then we humans are in a world of poop. By what the Bible says and what Jewish history says then there once was a King in Israel called Solomon the son of King David. It is said that God granted the young King Solomon a wish and instead of Solomon asking for riches and long life he instead asked for the wisdom that he would need to rule over the House of Israel. This is when it is said that God granted him a level of wisdom beyond that of any human ever. If you are this young man and you absolutely believe in God, you are granted all of this wisdom, you become the wealthiest human that has ever lived, you should also be the happiest person that has ever lived, wouldn’t you? God has granted you everything on a silver, excuse me, a gold platter, God has even granted you the long life and riches you didn’t ask for. What more could one human being want? O, yes, he should have requested enough blood to be running through his veins to operate both of his heads.

God did warn Solomon about taking wives from other lands whom worshiped other “gods”. I believe the number quoted in Scripture was that in Solomon’s latter years he had 300 wives and 700 secondary wives. Many of these 300 wives were like “treaty” wives. These were daughters of other rulers from around the known world. You know how it is supposed to work, you marry one of my daughters so now we both know that we won’t attack the other, that we will now be allies. One of the issues in this type of system is the reality that these women would bring their customs and their “gods” into Solomon’s Castle. These women would and did turn Solomon’s heart away from the God he knew existed toward some of the “other gods” his favorite wives served. Simply put guys, the wisest human being (man) that has ever lived couldn’t control his lustful human side. Friends, this is discouraging to say the least. If the wisest person who ever lived couldn’t control his sexual urges even when he had at least 1,000 women he could bed at any time he chose to, then what chance do us other poor blokes have of keeping it in our pants, or robes, and staying out of divorce court, a thousand times?

I am not going to lie to you, between my two marriages I was with several ladies, but not during my two marriages. Was I wrong in having sex outside of marriage, by Scripture, yes. Was I sinning, yes? Am I perfect, no, of course not. But, during my two marriages I have not once cheated, not even to the point of touching another woman at all. My first wife did not have a problem with spreading herself around, that marriage lasted less that two years. The young lady that I am hitched to now (19 yrs) has been faithful and true as I have been to her. For me I chose not to mess around on my first wife even though she showed me no such courtesy. I chose not to because I was taught that those actions was by faith and by love things a person would not/should not ever do. My current wife and I have never ever cheated on the other, for the same reasons, Scripture forbids me and because I love her and I know that me cheating would be a deal breaker that would crush her, and I refuse to treat her like that. These are the two reasons that I am wiser that the wisest man who has ever lived, well okay, on this one issue, maybe. The wisest man who has ever lived was a huge screw up, thank you Lord for your Grace because it is very obvious we humans tend to have a major case of stupid going on.

Life: It Is What It Is

Life: It Is What It Is

Yes it is what it is but does that then depend on what ‘it’ is? ‘It’ could be like ‘truth’, does truth simply depend on whose version of it we seek? The ‘it’ of this note to you today is simply ‘life’. I have been blessed to have been given over sixty years here upon this patch of ground and I have seen many pretty locations here in the States and in Canada. I now only see them in my memories as life and time have retired my roaming days. No amount of wanting to do things that I used to could do changes the fact that I am now a broken down old man and my body just won’t let me do it. ‘It’ simply is like life itself, it is what it is, until we change it.

I can’t go back and change the mistakes of my past nor can I relive days of old with people I love, but who have moved on. If you are like me at all then you also have several points in times past where you wish you could change a decision you made in your personal life. One of the hard truths of life is that we can only go forward in life, we can not spin the globe counter clock wise. Having to live with the knowledge of our own mistakes is what tends to grow us as adults and as humans, or it can break us if we dare to let it. Depression can be the ‘it’ that destroys our lives sometimes if we let it control us. Wine, women and song is said to destroy, but only if we let it. We humans are hopefully like a sponge, we learn everyday as we are made to go forward to learn from ‘it’, life, our mistakes, or our successes.

Race is a good example of ‘it is what it is’ I think for this demonstration of what I am trying to say. Race to me is nothing more than a skin color, it is not a definition of a type of person or at least it should not be considered so. Race is what we as a society are choosing to let it be, good, evil, or something that completely does not matter. I am a white person who was born in the American south, these are facts that I had nothing to say about when they happened, no one else here on earth had anything to do with their two situation’s either. Things no one can control should not matter. Racism is something we can all control, if the color of a person is what is most important to you, you are poisoning your own soul and the lives of those around you. An example I am going to give right now is obviously just my own opinion but then again isn’t this what most (not all though) folks writing blogs are doing? If you are a person who believes that your race was treated wrong in the past or that you are not being treated as equals now, have you intern grown to be a hate filled soul? Have we become that which we have always hated in others? Our skin color is what it is. The rest of it, the hatred, the stupidity, these are ‘it’s’ that could be changed. That is if, we will choose to accept the love of Jesus in our heart, mind and soul. If we choose not to, we will cost us ‘it/our own soul, to be cast into hell forever. That is to high of a price for everyone and anyone to have to pay for ‘it/hate/racism/stupidity/ignorance’. It is not just our own life that is one the line everyday, it is our eternity that is also staring us in the face.

If You Are Poor And Can’t Support Yourself; Why Should You Be Allowed To Live?

If You Are Poor And Can’t Support Yourself; Why Should You Be Allowed To Live?

Playing the part of the devils advocate in this piece, all for the purpose of getting people to think deeper than the everyday surface that we see in our daily lives and to look at the bigger pictures in life itself.

Several months ago I wrote an article that was about world food supplies concerning an ever-growing world population. As we speak there are about 7.1 billion human mouths to feed here on the planet Earth. Fifty years ago the world could not have fed the current population, the shortfall would have been by at least a couple of billion mouths. If by the year 2050 there are ten billion people, will we as a human society be able to feed them all? What if they can’t, then what? There are thousands of people who die everyday on this globe because they did not have the food and or water they need to survive. There are millions of people right here in America that go hungry everyday, men, women, children, old folks. It is a national disgrace that this country has millions of people who are homeless and hungry, there is no excuse for this except pure greed and ego’s. Greed, that is an obvious answer, but ego’s? One of the sad lessons that I have learned during my years is that most people here in the States seem to look down upon anyone who has less than they themselves do. When a person has a problem in their life where they have a problem with their finances and they lose their car or their home many people mock them behind their backs and belittle them to their faces, and on places like Facebook. Brotherly love, where is it? Christian love? Multi-million dollar Church buildings that are financed on the backs of the very poorest, or in a community that is very poor, is a disgrace to the teachings of Jesus.

Now for the Devils Advocate part of this post. If I were a very wealthy person whether I be worth many millions or even worth billions, why should I have to give any of my money, my resources, to help the poor, uneducated, and untrained? Why should I have to take fewer profits just to give to those to sorry or to ignorant or to disabled to be able to support themselves? When there are ten billion children with let us say about three billion adults but technology has made it to where there are only two billion jobs with only about one billion that actually pays a living wage, why should I give a flip about all these lowlife peasants? Why should the top one-per-centers be forced to lower their life styles and give to the bottom rungs of society? Why feed the garbage, just let them die so they can get the heck off my planet sooner!

Is it my fault that ten percent of the people in my county are unemployed and another forty percent are underemployed? Well, if I am a business owner or an executive with an international company and my total earnings are leveled off at lets say five times the amount of my bottom scale I pay my employees, maybe then I would care about what my lowly scumbag employees make. Why should I have to give any of my money to the welfare system? If these people are to lazy or broken down to go earn their own living why the heck should I care if these people starve or freeze to death, they are not my responsibility? As an example, if the planet can only sustain five billion humans then why is it wrong for those of us who are energetic and have been successful in our lives to go forward with the eradication of the lowlife scum on this planet whom are not pulling their own weight?–Remember, Devils Advocate. Folks, if you honestly believe that there aren’t millions of people who think this way then I believe that you are clueless to reality.

Black Lives matter, Blue Lives Matter, All Lives Matter

Black Lives matter, Blue Lives Matter, All Lives Matter

(I FIRST RAN THIS ARTICLE IN NOVEMBER OF 2015 BUT I DECIDED TO RUN IT AGAIN AFTER A YOUNG UNARMED MAN WAS SHOT 20 IN HIS BACK YARD IN SACRAMENTO CALIFORNIA BY A COUPLE OF POLICE OFFICERS A COUPLE OF NIGHTS AGO)

A few days ago I saw a picture somewhere here in the States during some kind of a rally where it showed uniformed police officers and some were holding up a sign that said “Blue Lives Matter”, I hadn’t seen that before but obviously it stuck in my memory. After the police officer shot that young black man in Ferguson Missouri earlier this year and the riots that followed a group of people started up the campaign of Black Lives Matter and yes, they absolutely do matter, but so does everyone else including the lives of every single man and woman who carry a badge.

Personally I believe that we are looking at two main issues when it comes to police violence against anyone anywhere at any time. First I do believe as a Christian that no person has any right to use deadly force against anyone unless they or their family are being attacked. When this happens though I do believe that everyone has the right and the duty to protect themselves and their loved ones. You see if there is no “attack” then there is no “attack” to protect from. A lot of Americas problems with our youth is that they do tend to have lousy parenting skills, or simply have no care about raising their kids to be God-loving and God-fearing human beings. When our young people develop a culture where they are proud of being loud mouthed punks where they have no respect for anyone or anything and their life goals is to act as big and bad as possible, then our young folks end up butting heads with the police departments. When we have a culture where acting like or being “gangster” is a life goal then these young folks are sometimes going to cross paths with some punks who are wearing blue. Being a cop is a difficult job and it usually takes a person who is rather “macho” “alpha males or ladies” to be able to do that job. But law enforcement world-wide is morally obligated to make sure that all Officers are mature, reasonable, honest adults and many departments have failed horribly at this job requirement.

Two things that I would like to see done in my lifetime is for our youth to find the love of Jesus and follow His examples of love instead of following the gangster hoodlum stupidity. If people would simply obey an Officers requests/orders and follow the Officers orders immediately and do it politely then how many lives would still be being lived? Now about Police Officers, their people, their responsibilities and their maturity issues. I am almost 60 years old now and I have lived in many states north and south. I have known many Police Officers from different backgrounds and I totally believe that many Officers and in some cases their whole departments are very much immature punks, thugs, and loud mouths. These type issues plus the fact that most Officers any more act as though they are scared to death of everyone they encounter. Some of this fear is valid as there are people in society who will shoot a cop for fun, and the cops know this danger. If you notice, anymore whenever a cop encounters people they almost always have the side arm unlatched and they have one hand on the trigger. In some cases this fear/cautiousness has caused innocent people to be murdered by a cop yet this same fear/caution has saved many Officers lives because the person they have stopped are sometimes looking for a chance to kill the Officer.

Every life on Earth matters, black, blue, white, brown, red, yellow, or pink with purple poke a dots. Every human life matters. So my conclusion on this issue today is a two-fold request. One, our society here in America is sick, certain cultures especially in the black communities have got to correct themselves. This must be done through better parenting skills with more Dads acting like dads. I personally did a horrible job at raising my two blood children but I was fortunate in that they were raised by a good family and they both turned out to be college grads who have never been in jail and who are now great parents themselves. Most people aren’t so lucky and it seems that our society excepts and applauds people who act like total morons. If families all still prayed at the supper table each evening and took even a half of an hour for Bible study and prayer and have the parents acting like loving parents, it is my belief that there would be many more young people still alive and out of prison than what we see today. Also, I believe that there would be more Police Officers alive today if as a profession they would vigorously fire the mean, hate filled, aggressive Officers who are ruining their profession. This does not hardly ever happen because to many departments are now headed by the same human garbage as the Officers they protect. Just because a person has been a Cop for 20 years does not mean that they are a quality person or Officer, just as a person who is a teacher who has 20 years experience does not mean that they are worth a damn as a teacher. A person can do a job for a whole life time but that does not mean that they were ever doing their job the way they swore an oath to do it.

America, we as a Nation have a lot of problems and we all are going to have many more new survival issues in our countries future, that is if we don’t implode as a Nation first. We as a Nation must come together as one people who are dedicated to Christian ideology or we will come apart at the seams. I guess maturity and decency by all people toward all people is beyond our reach as “a people”, I wish that wasn’t so but as the old saying goes “the proof is in the pudding.” If we fight among ourselves because of race and hatred then we as a Nation will be defeated by the Islamic hate groups that want all of us to die as quickly as possible. Folks, we don’t have a chance until we grow up and act like God-loving people toward each other, no matter what color, no matter what job.

(Love Poem) My Little Girl

My Little Girl

There is this pretty little girl in Arkansas I met

From a life of roaming she took me, I don’t regret

The Lord blessed me with her smile and warmth

The tenderness of her skin the same as her lips

Kentucky’s Blue Grass with her and son we live in bliss

With the love of my lady I know my Soul is Heaven kissed

I love the beauty of her heart as her Soul and hand I kiss

For the love of my lady at her feet I bow and her toes I kiss

(Love Poem) For The Love Of My Woman

FOR THE LOVE OF MY WOMAN

For the love of my woman

I would do most anything

She brought forth the fruit

Of our love, ignoring the pain

Her heart is so tender

Like the touch of her hand

Balancing the teaching of our child

Tutor, Mommy, lover and friend

O Lord, please grant me to be worthy

Of the love of your sweet Angel

You have sent me from Your Realm

Lord, please grant me the wisdom

Knowledge, strength and love

To be the man, teacher and Daddy

To the offspring of our love

O Lord, thank you for your grace

Kindness and tender mercy

Of this woman whom I love

Thank you o Lord for sending me

Your Angel adorned in your love

I pray I be found worthy in your eyes Lord

Of this beautiful lady, my sweetheart, my bride

(Spiritual Love Poem) What Is Love Anyway

WHAT IS LOVE ANYWAY

Love, what a little word, not very long at all

Yet with such broad outstretched arms it calls

Wonderful how wide, inclusive those arms can be

Love, it’s different for Aunt’s, Uncles, Mom and Dad

Bloodline we can’t choose yet real family we can and do

Narrow are the love lines, can we love a person we just can’t trust

Tender, deeper love than for our spouse our children, our Lord above

Is love any different when considered by the caste in which we’re born

O  the quiet in the Heavens after the Shout ordered by the Father Above

Now friends, this is the time that all of the Human Race will find out
