(Poem) Grace And Faith

Grace And Faith

Grace is shown in peace

Peace is given through faith

Faith is love, with-out question

Gifts of love are through His Grace

What have we learned from the breaths of today

How much time did we waste today

A couple hours of Pogo on the side

How much truth did I learn from reading

Were all the arguments all from one side

Did we walk through the doors of life today

To show much grace, is that not the face of grace, which is faith

For without faith, there is no chance that we can please Him

If we choose to shy away from His face, love and grace, we’re already dead

Only through His Grace and our Faith in Him can we understand His Love

For without faith we are dead and blind, infidels, a bunch of non-Believers

(Philosophy) Of Grace

GRACE

When one is full of grace or grace is given from one to another, what do you think of? In index in my Bible says this about grace—unmerited favor. I don’t think I have ever used those exact words for the depiction before but if you really think about grace from God The Creator toward the creatures He created in Their own image; undeserved kindness, yes, unmerited, unearned kindness. It is the Truth that we humans are saved by Grace. Absolutely this is true, for if we humans were not saved by the Grace of God, then most assuredly everyone of us would perish. There would be no hope for anyone of salvation. For no human of their own accord could live a perfectly perfect life for indeed a man’s righteous is but filthy rags to The Lord. (Is 64:6)

I hope that you don’t mind but I would like to put down on paper a few of the beautiful yet direct passages in their meaning. All Scriptures are given for our own understanding and knowledge sake. (Eph 2: 4-10)

4.) But God, who is rich in mercy, for His great love wherewith He loved us.

5.) Even when we were dead in sins He made us alive together with Christ (by grace we are saved)

6.) And has reached us up together and made us sit together, in Heavenly places in Jesus Christ.

7.) That in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us through Jesus Christ.

8.) For by Grace we are saved Through Faith and not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.

9.) Not of works, lest any man should boast.

10). For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God had ordained that we should walk in them. Remember, without faith it is impossible to please God.

Romans 6: 14 For sin shall not have rule over you for you are not under the Law (Old Covenant/Old Testament)

John 1: 14 And The Word (Jesus) was made flesh and dwelt among us (and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father) full of grace and truth.

John 1: 17 For the Law was given by Moses, but grace and truth cam by Jesus Christ.

Romans 5: 1-2 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. By whom we also have access by faith into grace where in we stand and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

1 Peter 3: 7 Likewise, you husbands, dwell with them (wives) according to knowledge, giving honor to your wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and being Heirs together in the Grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.

I hope that I haven’t bored you with the way I laid out this letter to you. Personally I thought these were some  beautiful passages concerning and defining God’s Grace to us. But we all also have an obligation back to God. Some Christian religions teach that once saved always saved. Also that through God’s Grace we are saved so there is nothing that we really have to do in our own personal lives, these ideas are usually taught in unison with each other. But you see, there is a small problem, this is not what the Scriptures teach. Some will tell you that they were baptized (sprinkled) when they were 8 days old so now they can live what ever life style they want to. 2 Peter 3: 16b “they that are unlearned and unreliable twist, as they do also the other Scriptures, unto their own destruction.”

We are all saved by the Grace of Jesus Christ for without Jesus there is no salvation for anyone! But there actually are some other considerations. There are a few simple requirements of each of us like faith in Jesus, loving Jesus and doing the things in our life that Jesus asks of us. If we truly do love Him the we will walk our life in the love and strength of our Master. If we walk our life in darkness then we show the whole world and The Lord, that it is not God we serve, but Satan. As Jesus said to us all so plainly “if you love Me, then you will do the things of which I ask.”

Are We All Equal And Even?

Are We All Equal And Even?

Good evening folks, as you can see I have decided to write to you on the subject matter of if we are all of equal value both in our own human eyes and in the eyes of our Creator. Let’s break the two words down separately for a moment, define them and see if they come back together in the end. I looked the words up in the Webster Dictionary and this is what it had to say. Equal: same in number, style, merit, fit or qualified, evenly balanced, one equal to another. Then for the word Even: uniform in quality, equal in amount, impartial, invites comparison.

I do hope that with age that we all do learn from the life that we have lived, good, bad and the ugliness of our societies we survive within. I know that our Lord said for us to “not put those of gray hair away, for in the gray hair on man lies the wisdom of the world.” I used to wonder for years how any of us humans could possibly think of ourselves as being superior or as subordinate to other people then at the age of 22 I had an eye opening reality slap me in the face and I was given the answer. At the age of 22 I left northern Illinois where I had lived for 12 years and moved back to the town I was born in which is in the Blue Ridge Mountains of southwest Virginia. From the ages of 10-17 I attended our local Church of Christ but from 17-22 I have to admit that I didn’t attend very often. So, when I moved back to the home of my family roots I decided that I would start going back to Church at their local Church of Christ.

I attended this Church for three weeks when on one Sunday evening the Preacher turned in his 30 day notice of his quitting. He and his family were not local folks, in fact they were “Yankees”, they were from the state of Pennsylvania so quite honestly I was a bit surprised that he had even even been hired there as some of the folks in that region are still fighting the Civil War within their own minds. That Sunday evening after the Preacher had given his notice I met him at the door and told him that I had been thinking about making this the Church the place I was going to be a regular at so could he tell me what was troubling him so much that he decided to quit and leave the area. What the man told be both shocked me and woke me up at the same time. What he said was that it is the Church Leadership’s opinion here that the only people who have Souls, are white people. Seriously, that is what he said, I never ever stepped foot in that building again.

For years I had wondered how it was possible that some people throughout history to treat each other as horribly as we have. How was it possible for the atrocities of the slave trade of years ago and to this current date? How was it possible that the government of our Nation (USA) to have ever worked to eliminate a whole race of people like they did all throughout the 1800’s with the Native Americans. How could a government or a major ruling race say to another that “you are less than I am because you don’t have the same skin color as me or because your religion is somewhat different than what we believe.” How phony can a person or persons be? One of the thoughts that I have pondered throughout the years is just how does a person think they will be able to justify their ego’s and their hatreds when they step in front of the Judgement Seat of our Creator? How could it be possible for me to believe that it is okay with our Creator for me to treat people of a different skin color or from another country than I am as if they are less important than I am?

Friends, it took me a long time before I finally understood this reality, it took me a long time to “get it.” People treat other people as ‘sub-humans’ because that is what they believe inside themselves. This ‘truth’ is both sad and scary at the same time. This reality does also extend to financial class hatred of each other. Things like I hate you because you are richer than me or, I hate you because you have less than me. So many do try to puff their own selves up by squashing and demeaning all others. Truly, Demons do walk this Earth among us and they are as starving Lions looking for whom they may devour. The truth is that many people actually do believe that all other people are ‘less’ than they are. That at best, only a few other people are Equal to themselves. Many people of this egotistical world do not believe that others should be considered or treated as “Even” or allowed onto the playing field of life with themselves.

Jesus tells us plainly over and over again that God IS NOT a respecter of persons. He is telling us that one person is not better than another. Whether we are a King, a President or a person who cleans toilets for a living and lives under a bridge, we are all of equal importance to God our Creator. Salvation is given by God to all people of the Earth, to all Nations, to all Languages. Why is it that some of us humans seem to think that we can slander God’s human creations and demean them? How is it possible that we can think we will not be held accountable by our own Creator of these sins? Friends, it is all of us who are not “Equal, Even” or sufficient, not of our own abilities. It is only by the Mercy, Grace and Power of our Creator that any of us have ever drawn a single breath. Folks it is by our ‘works, our actions’ that we are known. If we hate our brother without a cause, we at our own Judgement will be looked upon by the Hosts of Heaven, God’s Angels and our Creator Himself as nothing more than a murderer.

Just think of this, if we humans would do this one thing, to love one another as Jesus has loved us, then most of the worlds ills would go away. Love, kindness, goodness, charity, and mercy, what an abstract thought in our society today. When a child comes forth out of the womb it is Equal, it is Even, it is the humans around the child that teaches them both truth and errors, love and hate.

(Humanity/Poem) Will They Know That We Loved Them

Will They Know That We Loved Them

Today would have been the Birthday of my Father-in-Law and friend

Three weeks ago he passes just shy of seeing his 82nd circle of life

I was not there with him when he slid into the waiting arms of the Lord

The suffering that racked his brain is now but part of this good man’s aura

The last time I saw him we shared a smile when I mentioned the name of the Lord

Knowing that we will meet again so this time, this hug would not be the last one

With dignity he served as he quietly ran his race and with dignity, he slipped off to rest

Four children he raised, always trying his best, his youngest daughter he entrusted to me

His funeral my health would not let me attend high up on a Bluegrass Mountaintop

It is not one’s death that we celebrate, with one’s breath’s a person chooses good or bad

Even the Devil was once loved but just like many humans some turn away from God’s Grace

When we ourselves pass on into the quiet, will the ones we love know they held that place

(Philosophy/Poem) Shame

Shame

Shame is there really such a thing as shame these days

Shame, do you haunt the door stoop of our innermost thoughts

History, ancient wisdom, flickers of light and dark, the Soul searches

Have we lived the memories that our dreams replay for us at night

Bloodletting, holding someones last breath in your hands, live or die

What do you say to the relatives of the ones that we killed tonight

Shame you now feel because you chose to take their child’s last breath

To act kindly is to play the role of a fool in the eyes of today’s morality

How much of our soul do we give up to live the life that we chose to live

Have we acted with dignity in the days that the Lord God has given us

Think of having to wear the guilt and the shame of a deserter’s last name

Or, of having your Dad be the town drunk and your Mom the County Whore

Shame, do we sicken ourself via the depression we have caused our children

Is Shame an inbred part of the fiber which makes up our bone, skin, and Soul

Are there things that we have done that we will carry the darkness to our grave

Just like pity, ignorance, love, anger, and hate is shame a balance for the Soul

The ability to feel shame should be part of every human’s life, but, is it really

Look My Way

Look My Way

Look my way the next time you walk by

Not down your nose with your head in the sky

Look upon me with love as I have loved you

Then my heart you will win as your prize

Your shadow walks across my pillow

As I lay sleeping deep in the nights

Hoping you will but look my way

With caring still in your eyes

When I wake in the morning

I smile at your footprints

In the tears that I’ve cried

Knowing you have looked my way

With love in your eyes

When one’s winter sun is setting

Breath shallow as I lay dying

Walking footstep for footstep

With your arms out stretched

As as I see you looking my way

Yes, I see the love in your eyes

Poem: Breathless

Breathless

Breathless as the womb expands

Breathless till child’s bottom receives it’s very first hand

The cry all parents long for, music to all Grand-Parents hearts

The only time that we ever wish to hear our child cry

Our child grows from crawling then walking and talking

The parents hold their breath

Watching and wondering

What choices will our little angel make

Breathless anticipation, the good we hope for

The bad we pray they will never have to learn

And never too let evil to darken their door

As age takes hold of our bodies

We look back upon the life that we lived

Traveling our nation’s back roads and highways

In the motor home that our child did give

The vistas of God’s beauty paintbrush surrounds us

Breathless beauty, where man’s footprint seldom tread

Nearly breathless as we are now but a step or two

From the calling of the earth, the destiny we all must face

Breathlessly we look back one last time upon our life

At the beauty of our children and theirs brought to us

Death has only a minute sting as we lay breathlessly in God’s earth

Knowing that at His trumpet we will fully see the Light of God

Breathlessly, hoping to behold our loved ones faces once again

Breathlessly now hoping for a smile, not anger, upon our Creators face

(Love Philosophy/Poem) Real Love

Real Love

Love is a thing hoped for, yet something that is so seldom found

Do we think love is a dozen red roses or a big box full of chocolates

Or, do we believe flirting eyes telling us it’s box’s filled with bling

How is it that we poor dumb men still do not understand such things

Money will only buy a person whom will wear your temporary ring

How could a real true loving heart be able to be bought like a thing

Rose petals die and fall away, their stems with brier’s do forever mar

The candies red box now empty, it’s your fault, the calories it did bring

Now she tells everyone how you caused, her lap to be upon her knees

If flirting eyes and soft lips tell you that diamonds are her best friend

Do yourself a solid, get up on your horse, ride away as quickly as you can

Son, love is the touch of her hand as she walks gently by in a room full of men

Love is the sweet smile she has in her eyes for you, not just lust between her thighs

Love is what I am now blessed to know, though it did take me a couple of tries

Love is when your ugly, fat and old, she still gives you the scepter, the TV remote control

My friend I pray that someday you will be blessed, where you to can have a love like I

(Philosophical Poem) Having A Superpower

Having A Superpower

Me and my Superpower, you and yours

If we really could have one what would it be

Things like World Peace wouldn’t qualify though

Not unless every Soul in the Universe would agree

Peace cannot be while hate still reigns in one heart

Bottle and a Jeannie say to give one person three

Yet, if we each really did get one, what would we choose

Think about it a moment before you decide what it to be

Would we use it to enrich ourselves, or cause pain and grief

Would we share our help or would we just keep it to ourselves

Seeing the future, reading people thoughts from their minds

Becoming invisible to avoid times of pain or great stress

Fly like a Hogger on an Indian with bugs hanging in our teeth

Yet it’s just fantasy because humans don’t use the ones we have

Love and Faith are the first Superpowers I wish we used more of

(Before some of you get confused or a bit offended by the words used in line 13

here are the meanings of: Hogger: a Harley Motorcycle rider. and: Indian: an Indian

is a very old high quality Motorcycle.)

(Poem) Comfort

What is Grace that we should abide such a thing

Should I soothe and comfort those I do not know

I give you my reassurance that I will never bow

Who has brought cheer to me as I am sick and cold

Others I can not support nor can I waste time to help

Affliction grows each day as the world falls apart

Do you feel relief as the hate just grows and grows

A state of ease is just one less stripe upon my back

Who really give a damn or assist the weak and poor

Miss one day of work the Wolf will steal your door

Love is something that is so seldom ever spread

Is there not wars and strife in every single family

Who can show love with stripes upon their back

Back in time there was such a one that I heard of

But, is there really any Grace for such a one as I
