Life: It Is What It Is

Life: It Is What It Is

Yes it is what it is but does that then depend on what ‘it’ is? ‘It’ could be like ‘truth’, does truth simply depend on whose version of it we seek? The ‘it’ of this note to you today is simply ‘life’. I have been blessed to have been given over sixty years here upon this patch of ground and I have seen many pretty locations here in the States and in Canada. I now only see them in my memories as life and time have retired my roaming days. No amount of wanting to do things that I used to could do changes the fact that I am now a broken down old man and my body just won’t let me do it. ‘It’ simply is like life itself, it is what it is, until we change it.

I can’t go back and change the mistakes of my past nor can I relive days of old with people I love, but who have moved on. If you are like me at all then you also have several points in times past where you wish you could change a decision you made in your personal life. One of the hard truths of life is that we can only go forward in life, we can not spin the globe counter clock wise. Having to live with the knowledge of our own mistakes is what tends to grow us as adults and as humans, or it can break us if we dare to let it. Depression can be the ‘it’ that destroys our lives sometimes if we let it control us. Wine, women and song is said to destroy, but only if we let it. We humans are hopefully like a sponge, we learn everyday as we are made to go forward to learn from ‘it’, life, our mistakes, or our successes.

Race is a good example of ‘it is what it is’ I think for this demonstration of what I am trying to say. Race to me is nothing more than a skin color, it is not a definition of a type of person or at least it should not be considered so. Race is what we as a society are choosing to let it be, good, evil, or something that completely does not matter. I am a white person who was born in the American south, these are facts that I had nothing to say about when they happened, no one else here on earth had anything to do with their two situation’s either. Things no one can control should not matter. Racism is something we can all control, if the color of a person is what is most important to you, you are poisoning your own soul and the lives of those around you. An example I am going to give right now is obviously just my own opinion but then again isn’t this what most (not all though) folks writing blogs are doing? If you are a person who believes that your race was treated wrong in the past or that you are not being treated as equals now, have you intern grown to be a hate filled soul? Have we become that which we have always hated in others? Our skin color is what it is. The rest of it, the hatred, the stupidity, these are ‘it’s’ that could be changed. That is if, we will choose to accept the love of Jesus in our heart, mind and soul. If we choose not to, we will cost us ‘it/our own soul, to be cast into hell forever. That is to high of a price for everyone and anyone to have to pay for ‘it/hate/racism/stupidity/ignorance’. It is not just our own life that is one the line everyday, it is our eternity that is also staring us in the face.

What One Word Describes our Life; The One We See In Your Mirror?

What One Word Describes our Life; The One We See In Your Mirror?

When it is just you, alone, with just your thoughts late at night, can we be honest even then? When we have no one to lie to, no one to impress, do we even know what the truth about our own self is? When we blend in all of the really good things that we did in our past life (time up to this point) along with all of the ignorant and cruel things that we did (even if our ignorance is our defense), how does the picture look to us when it (our life) is all shaken out? This blog is really about conversation, I want the few folks who do read this blog to think and to look inside ourselves and think about the really cool or nice things that we did but also the really shameful things that we allowed ourselves to do, the sins we have done that are unspeakable. I try to get folks to look at these issues when it is just you, yourself, and your mirror (and hopefully private prayer time with Jesus). Personally I very much hope that your one word was better than mine. Why would I say that? The answer is simple folks, because so often my ‘word’ is shameful. It is shameful because I know in my heart that most days I function on ‘cruse control’, literally everyday of my life I know in my heart that I could have done better, more ‘good’ if I had just tried harder. My wife and son tell me that I am to hard on myself, yet I wonder if that is what Jesus will say at my judgement.

(Philosophy/Poem) Ignorance Pure Ignorance

 IGNORANCE PURE IGNORANCE

Hiding from the truth, but do we even know what it is

Yet it is something that we sometimes try to do

Our own secrets and truths we can’t hide from

Ignorance, pure ignorance, living like a fool

With age we all can look back at our mistakes

Back at the path of life we all chose to allow

looking back at all the faded smiles in our memories in time

Did we make the calls, or leave loved ones waiting by the phone

Did our ink upon much paper dry or did we even try to write

Does our own family know our hand like a fingerprint in time

Does our family we say we love even know the details of our face

Without love life is but wasted time, so have we wasted our life

Ignorance, pure ignorance the guilt of a wasted life

Tonight upon my bed I decided to change how I live

In time of deepest thought do we have anything to say

Was I only dreaming when I heard a voice speak to me

These words in night sleep said, ignorantly is how I lived

These last words that we hear in this prayer tonight, are they fit to be our last

Will they be the last this life has left, if we never hear the spoken word again

The Holy Spirit saying to my Soul did you do the best that you could have done

Does our conscience ever ask, why did we choose to live our life the way we did

Ignorance, pure ignorance the Angel says as he throws us into Hell’s fiery pit

Hate: Is It Ignorance Being Fulfilled?

This afternoon in London England there was another ‘terrorist incident’, this time just outside the entrance to their Parliament Building. The last I heard before I started this commentary there are four dead and about 20 wounded. One of the dead is the attacker, another is a Police Officer.  The other two dead people were killed by being driven over by the attacker. What a typical  example of ones hate being forced upon others lives. Folks, when a person chooses to murder someone, do you think they are doing this because they are ‘happy’ with the one they decide to kill? I tend to think, no, how about you? Killing other people, outside of contract obligations such as when you are in your Nation’s Military, or in the case of self-defence, murder is usually done through or because of hate. So, today the actions of one man ended the lives of three others and harmed and scarred many others. One man’s actions caused a lot of chain reactions not just in heroic goodness of some, but in the actions of the Press there in London informing we the people of the events, step by step. Yes they did a rather good job of informing me of the steps that (England’s) has in place that security protocol is designed to function within. In this case a person filled with hate could best figure out where to form a multi-tiered attack. Think of the pure hate concept of bringing an ambulance to a bomb or mass shooting location, filled with C-4 just so you can kill as many First Responders as you possibly can. Folks, this is not the way of a rational mind, nor of a God! It is not a mind filled with any form of morality, it is a mind filled with Evil, hate. When we humans decide to degrade other human beings to a ‘less than’ human status it becomes easier and easier to degrade, hurt or even kill them.

Friends this type of hate that we witnessed this afternoon in London is not just a hiccup in human history that we are living in, this is the reality for humans for ever more. Europe is being forced to deal with this hatred toward their own people and toward their own cultures. Here in the U.S. we have suffered several examples of hatred also toward our people and our chosen ways of life. Yet Europe and her people are a tender underbelly to a region full of hatred, for you and your way of life. I believe that the U.S. and all of the ‘America’s’ are just starting to see the damage caused by hatred. The olden days (our version of the good old days), they’re gone, they are not going to return, but why not? The answer is hatred folks. Hatred has a great helpmate which also causes so much heartache and that is ignorance. No one on this planet will ever have a totally unmonitored lifestyle again, nor will we ever be free of people hating you/us. Welcome to the new world everyone, the one filled with unending security measures brought on because of threats that are real or imagined. You see, fear caused by hatred can easily be  duplicated in the one who fears as a way to grow into another hate filled, ignorant, Satan serving beast. A person who is hate filled creates and early grave for themselves and those around them, and a footstool in Hell.

Education Secretary Betsy DeVos Shows Her Hypocrisy And Ignorance After Visiting A Public School

(THIS ARTICLE IS COURTESY OF THE WASHINGTON POST)

Newly minted Education Secretary Betsy DeVos had a hard time getting inside the District’s Jefferson Middle School Academy last week when protesters briefly blocked her from entering. But at the end of her visit — her first to a public school since taking office — she stood on Jefferson’s front steps and pronounced it “awesome.”

A few days later, she seemed less enamored. The teachers at Jefferson were sincere, genuine and dedicated, she said, they seemed to be in “receive mode.”

“They’re waiting to be told what they have to do, and that’s not going to bring success to an individual child,” DeVos told a columnist for the conservative online publication Townhall. “You have to have teachers who are empowered to facilitate great teaching.”

DeVos, who has no professional experience in public education, is an avowed proponent of voucher schools, charter schools, online schools and other alternatives to traditional public schools. Teachers across the country have been galled by what they see as her lack of faith in — and understanding of — the public schools that educate nearly nine in 10 of the nation’s children.

Jefferson educators found her comments about their work hard to take: On Friday evening, the school responded to DeVos via its Twitter account, taking exception to the education secretary’s characterization of Jefferson teachers.

“We’re about to take her to school,” the first of 11 rapid-fire tweets said.

The tweetstorm singled out teachers like Jessica Harris, who built Jefferson’s band program “from the ground up,” and Ashley Shepherd and Britany Locher, who not only teach students ranging from a first- to eighth-grade reading level, but also “maintain a positive classroom environment focused on rigorous content, humor, and love. They aren’t waiting to be told what to do.”

“JA teachers are not in a ‘receive mode,’” the tweets concluded. “Unless you mean we ‘receive’ students at a 2nd grade level and move them to an 8th grade level.”

An Education Department spokesperson did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

D.C. Public Schools Chancellor Antwan Wilson, who accompanied DeVos on her visit to Jefferson, offered praise after the visit for the “dynamic classroom instruction” they both witnessed there.

Asked Saturday to respond to DeVos’s comments about Jefferson teachers, Wilson provided a statement:

I’ve worked in schools for my entire professional life — as a teacher, principal, and superintendent. I have learned from much experience what it takes to prepare students for college success. The teaching and learning at Jefferson will put our students on a path to college, successful careers, and beyond. I see that. Our teachers see that. Our students see that. And our parents see that. Defying expectations takes experience and a lifelong dedication to all students. DCPS is rich with educators who have this experience.

“I find it very interesting that the chancellor saw teachers that were pushing rigorous learning, students asking each other high-level questions and cultivating high-level responses, and teachers who take initiative and give their lives to the education of these children,” said Jefferson teacher Caroline Hunt. “DeVos saw something so different. … Maybe if DeVos knew more about education she would realize just how amazing the students, teachers and staff are.”

Jefferson is five years into a turnaround effort and is one of the fastest-improving schools in the city’s public school system. While fewer than half of students are meeting or approaching grade-level expectations, according to new Common Core tests, the school’s growth has won it classification as a “rising” D.C. school.

We all die one death, the second death is eternal separation from God our Father when we are cast away from Him into Hell. We all so very badly need to learn ‘IT’, ‘THE IT’ that is God’s love and to lose the hate that will only get us separated from God forever.

Through Ignorance World Leaders Wasted Our Blood And Gold

Through Ignorance World Leaders Wasted Our Blood And Gold

Yes I did say our, as in (you and I) who are part of this world conversation we call our lives. There is a section of the world’s population who have no faith system of any kind, what percent, I don’t know that answer but it probably varies from nation to nation wouldn’t you think? What I am going to get at is this, you don’t have to believe in something, for that something to kill you. Here in the States there are a lot of Atheist type folks who through their lack of knowledge degrade Christianity and Judaism every chance they get. Unfortunately we find many of these people in seats of power throughout many nations.

I want to ask you what you thought when your nation (if yours did) put blood and money into these Islamic nations, putting our soldiers in direct open conflict with various Islamic faith factions. I totally agree that after 911 when the experts figured out that Osama was behind it and they learned that he was in Afghanistan being protected by the Taliban whom would not give him up, we should have removed them from the face of the earth. The bigger problem after running those Satanic embers out of power was in how to rebuild this broken nation both physically via helping them build a national infrastructure and a solid national pride in getting all of it’s people a quality education both boys and girls. But, big but, how do you cure the inside of a person when their moral fiber is evil and they refuse to change their beliefs or culture within their own brains?

Our nations leaders should all have known that there is no way to help create a puppet government that can only stand for as long as we prop it up with a lot of our blood and money and honestly expect the nations of fundamental Islam to not retake everything once we leave? O, but isn’t that the same lesson our leaders didn’t learn in Iraq either? There is a fundamental reality about the Islamic faith at it’s core, they do not believe in democracies as the rule of law.

The whole world is in a position to have it’s ground stained with the blood of their own children. There are many major brewing and open conflict areas on the globe, all are dangerous, but no conflict can ever be as dangerous as one that is about what a group’s Faith teaches, especially if  that Faith teaches global enslavement by force. I would like to say to the world, please wake up, but I have no faith that we will. Folks the world of Islam is very much at war with you and they will kill you whether you believe in them or not, they would prefer we all be foolish, it makes us all easier to kill.
