Book Of Revelation Chapter #7
As we now start the 7th Chapter of Revelation I would have thought that it would have started off with Jesus breaking the 7th Seal, but that is not the case. The information about the 7th Seal does not start until the beginning of chapter #8. The 7th chapter is 17 verses long and is broken down into two sections. The first breakdown is chapters 1-8 then 9-17. Verses 1-8 is dedicated to the 144,000 Jews, 12,000 from each of the 12 Tribes of Israel. Then the second subject matter in 9-17 which is about the ‘great multitude’ of the Gentiles (non-Jews) that are before the Throne of God. We will breakdown the meaning of both of these subject matters so that their definitions and truths will be obvious to everyone.
The first 3 verses of chapter 7 are quite self explanatory. Yet it seems that verses 3 through 8 dumbfound a lot of people so lets study these first 8 verses now. I pray that the Holy Spirit will open the eyes and minds of all who earnestly seek the Light of their meanings. 1.) “And after these things (the opening of the 6th Seal and the events thereof) I saw 4 Angels standing on the 4 corners of the Earth, holding the 4 winds of the Earth, so that the wind would not blow on the Earth, nor on the Sea, nor on any tree.” “And I saw another Angel ascending from the East, having the Seal of the living God: and He cried with a loud voice to the 4 Angels, to whom it was given to damage the Earth and the Sea.” “Saying, do not hurt the Earth, neither the Sea, nor the trees, until We have sealed the Servants of God in their foreheads.” “And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed a hundred and forty-four thousand from all of the Tribes of the Children of Israel.”
Then starting with verse 5 through verse 8 the Scriptures name off each of the Twelve Tribes of Israel. From each of these twelve tribes there will come 12,000 Souls that must and will be Sealed, saved for Heavenly Service to God. Who these 144,000 people are is very simple, we have already been told. They are Jews with equal amounts from each of the 12 Tribes of Israel. 12 x 12,000= 144,000. Now if you would, for a moment, skip forward to 14:4. There we will learn more about them . It reads “the 144,000 which were redeemed from the Earth. These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb (Jesus The Christ) wheresoever He goes. They were Redeemed (bought with the Blood of Christ) from among men, being the First Fruits unto God and to the Lamb.” I hope that this Scriptural explanation will lay to rest peoples wondering as to whom these 144,000 are and from where they will come from.
Now let us discuss the “Great Multitude” of verses 9-17. This “Great Multitude of Gentiles.” First we need to understand exactly what a “Gentile” is. Simply, a Gentile is any person who is not full blood of the House (Linage) of Israel. This definition also means that about 99.99% of the people of today that call themselves Jews are not of this ‘Pure’Bloodline. To be so, a person would have to be 100% of that pure bloodline. There is a small group of men and women that live in Israel that are set aside separate from the general population and these people do not work outside of their own Commune. These people are also exempt from Israels military service. These people are of the Bloodline of King David. It is this Bloodline that the Messiah (Christ) will come from. So, it is this Bloodline that the Nation of Israel is trying to keep pure and safe for the reason of the coming of The Christ through it.
The Jewish Nation has the right idea in what they are doing here, to safe guard the Holy Bloodline. But, it is also true that they have missed the proverbial boat. You see, the Jewish People deny that Jesus was/is The Christ. So, they are still looking for Christ to come for the first time. They are still looking for Christ to come for the first time and to set up His Kingdom and to rule the world from His Throne in Jerusalem from the Temple Mount. What they are seeking will come to pass but when this does happen it will be from the Lord’s Second Advent, not His first.
Now lets get back to the Redeemed Multitude of Gentiles. The Apostle John speaks of this crowd as being huge, more than a man could count. In Verse 9 John wrote “I beheld a great multitude which no man could number, of all nations and kindred’s and people and tongues, stood before the Throne and before the Lamb, clothed in White Robes, with palms in their hands.”
Now lets read through the last 5 verses of this chapter so that we can understand more clearly concerning these Gentiles. The Apostle John wrote “and one of the Elders said unto me, who are these who are arrayed in White Robes and where did they come from?” “And I said unto Him, Sir, you know. And He said unto me, these are they which came out of the Great Tribulation and have washed their Robes and have made them White in the Blood of the Lamb.” “Therefor they are before the Throne of God and serve Him day and night in His Temple: and He that sits on the Throne shall dwell among them.” “They shall hunger no more, neither thirst anymore. Neither shall the Sun light on them, nor any heat.” “For the Lamb which is in the midst of the Throne shall feed them and shall lead them unto Living Fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.”
For the people who think it is okay to be prejudice all I can say is folks, you badly need to rethink your positions on the racism matter. The Apostle Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 10:32 “give no offence, neither to the Jews, the Gentiles, nor to the Church of God.” Paul also wrote in 1 Corinthians 12:13 “For by one Spirit we are all baptized into one Body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be slaves or free, we have all been made to drink into one Spirit.” Then here the Apostle John said in verse 9 “The Holy Fathers children that stood redeemed before His Throne were people from every nation and of every tongue.” Friends, it is not okay to hate, Jesus Himself told us that if a man hates his brother (fellow person) without a cause (something that a person has/had no choice in the matter, like ones skin color or where they were born) that the hater is in danger of Hell’s Fire. When a person is filled with hate it is very often that they become a mirror image of the very thing that they hate. If a person is filled with hate they have no part of the Spirit of God. And if we reject Jesus and His Teachings in this life Jesus has made it very plain that He will reject us before the Throne of God at our own Judgement. Friends, I do not wish such a horrible fate on anyone. I hope and I pray that we will all be dressed in White Robes before Jesus once this journey of life is over. I pray that the Lord will bless and protect you all everyday.
