The Shooting Of Unarmed People Is Murder Period: This Includes Police Shootings

This morning in the Cleveland Ohio news we are being told that six Police Officers have been fired, one other retired early, and another six Officers have been suspended for anywhere from 21 to 30 days for murdering two people. Back in November of 2012 in the city of Cleveland an old Chevy Malibu backfired near a police station. One of the Officers that was outside thought it sounded like a gun shot so he and many of his buddies took off after a car that they thought the shot had come from. To make a long story short they were wrong, there was no gun shot and the two people in the car (one man, one woman) had no firearms at all. This mornings we are told that approximately 100 Police cars chased this couple for about 20 miles into another jurisdiction where they were able to get the car stopped (bullets stopped it). Once the Officers got the car stopped Officers shot through the windshield 137 rounds, 24 struck and killed the man, 23 struck and killed the woman. Unless you see a person banishing a firearm and that firearm is being pointed at you then you (any Cop anywhere) have no right to ever shoot to kill anyone, if you do, it is murder! Cops must be treated with the same laws they use to make their decisions. You know very well that all those bullets were taken out of these two people’s corpses and that they were matched up against the different Officers weapons. The Officers who started this chase and the Officers whom fired and hit these two innocent unarmed people must be tried for first degree murder. Here in America we have to many macho mental midget’s with a badge and a gun and that isn’t even counting all the cowards with a badge and a gun and there are many, many, many of these felons wearing blue and the American people know it, this is why you are not at all trusted. Murder is murder, no matter what your job description is. You know how we are told that if we are having trouble while we are out and about that we are supposed to find a Cop or to drive to the nearest Police Station? What was this couple suppose to do when it is the Cops whom are chasing and shooting at you, do you stop and make it an easy target for them?

If Police Departments in  America want the vast majority of the public to be on their side then the profession MUST clean up its own act. There are two things that would be very helpful in this regard. 1) Officers must be held totally accountable for their actions, they are supposed to be public servants, not executioners. 2) Officers need to always be friendly whenever possible and they must act like grownups, not mouthy arrogant punks with a gun. So I ask you Officers, please perform your duties with honor, then you will see many more of us civilians whom want very badly to support you. For these things to happen all Policing Agencies personnel must perform their duties honorably and they MUST arrest their fellow Officers when they break the same laws you arrest the people for. Integrity of the Law, learn what it is, and then follow it. That is if you ever want the public to be on your side, right now anytime you ever meet an Officer for any reason the public knows that their life hangs in the balance. It is up to all Policing Agencies to correct their own flaws, no one else can do it for you.

Virginia Youth Pastor Charged With 1st Degree Murder in Thanksgiving Day Triple Homicide

REUTERS/SHANNON STAPLETONNYPD crime scene tape is seen at the site of a shooting at the corner of Marcus Garvey Blvd. and Pulaski Street in the Brooklyn borough of New York.

A Virginia youth pastor has been charged with first-degree murder in the shooting deaths of his wife, stepdaughter, and stepdaughter’s boyfriend on Thanksgiving Day and is now in being held in jail.

In an incident police are calling a domestic in nature, Christopher Gattis, 58, shot and killed his wife Jeanett Gattis, 58; her daughter Candice Kunze, 30; and Andrew Buthorn, 36, Kunze’s boyfriend, at the home near Richmond that they shared with Gattis just before 11:30 p.m. Thursday night, Yahoo News reported Sunday. The women were found dead in the home; Buthorn’s body was found in the yard.

Gattis, who is a youth pastor at Grace Lutheran Church in Chester, Virginia has been charged with three counts of first-degree murder and three counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. He is now being held at Chesterfield County jail without bond. He will appear in General District Court on Monday and Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court on Tuesday.

“Members of Grace Lutheran Church are deeply saddened by the loss of life last night as a result of three individuals being shot in Chester, and this tragedy included members of Grace Lutheran Church,” the church said in a statement on its website.

“Grace Lutheran Church has experienced many hardships over the years, but this heartbreak has unique challenges. Grace Lutheran Church asks for the prayers from the community as our congregation begins the process of addressing the grief being experienced by everyone involved.”

Residents of Gattis’ neighborhood are surprised.

“We were all friends. We hang out sometimes [and] cook out in the back,” Mike Brown, neighbor to Gattis, told the Richmond-area CBS affiliate.

“I mean every time I see them, they’re always the same way. [I] had no clue that they were having problems that I knew of, but behind closed doors is behind closed doors.”

Neighbor Larry Patton, who lives across the street from the Gattis home, described the family in Friday’s Richmond Times-Dispatch as “good people.” When he and his wife moved into the neighborhood two years ago the Gattis family welcomed them, and the neighbors often shared meals together.

“He’d do anything for you. He was always quick to laugh. He had a hearty laugh,” Patton recalled of Mr. Gattis, the youth pastor.

The neighbors told reporters that approximately six weeks ago Candice had moved back home from Oregon and brought her boyfriend along with her.

Gattis’ Facebook page listed Grace Lutheran Church as his employer since 2014.

Police say that their investigation into the triple murder is ongoing.

A Chicago Cop And First Degree Murder: A Race Issue Or Pure Arrogance?

I first heard of this case in Chicago Illinois of a Chicago police officer shooting a young man 16 times in October of 2014 about two days ago. Even before I watched the video this evening of the police cruiser dash cam of this horrific crime I was sickened by the news of any person or even an animal being shot 16 times by one person. There is and was no necessity for such an event to have ever happened to this young man or to anyone. Many people want to make this and every police shooting by a non-black officer of a black person into a race issue, and that is sickening racism itself. In my opinion this shooting looks like a case of first degree murder and it appears that the Cook County District Attorney agrees as the now former officer has finally been charged with first degree murder for executing this young man. Is this former officer a racist person, does he hate black people? I don’t know the man personally, he maybe, or maybe not. I personally believe that the biggest issue here and in many police departments across the nation isn’t police racism near as much as it is the arrogance that ‘the law’ through moral-less District Attorneys have fostered throughout that profession during at least the past fifty or so odd years.

Throughout the past thirty years or so I have seen several videos of police officers shooting unarmed people in the back as they were running away from the officers and the local D.A.’s refusing to charge the officers. These were videos that were put on television programs, it is not like I have some secret information that the general public doesn’t have. I remember seeing film of a white male who was pulled over, the driver waited for a moment, flipped his cigarette out his window and sped off. After a short chase the suspect got out of his car and started running away, the officer got out of his car and shot the young man in the back killing him. The D.A. called it a justified killing because the young man had put officers in harm’s way via the chase. Excuse me but that is murder, cold-blooded murder, and it didn’t have anything to do with race. This is an issue of arrogance and aloofness that has become a major problem in that profession.

There have been several video’s of people who were shot and killed by officers when they decided to drive away from the scene with an officer standing near the vehicle. The officers said they were afraid for there lives as they considered the vehicle a deadly weapon (which we all know it definitely can be). This is obviously a judgement call but if you are standing near a car and the driver is trying to get away from you in most cases all you have to do is step out of the way, if anything just shoot at the tires, remember, in these cases the cars were at zero miles per hour when the conflict started. I could see shooting at the driver if by chance you (the officer) were directly in front or directly in back of the vehicle and the driver mashes the gas pedal and comes after you but it is murder when the driver is just trying to get away from you by going in a different direction than you. Most of these that I have seen throughout the years had nothing to do with race as both people had the same skin color.

I have personally seen several times throughout the years where officers were beating on people and the person would raise their hands trying to block the blows to their head and body while the officers were screaming at them to quit “resisting’ them. I have also seen where in these same situations that the arrested person was then also charged with assaulting a police officer because they were trying to not get their head beaten in. This post is not a condemnation of all police officers as there are many very good moral people wearing that badge but this profession absolutely must clean out the ego maniacs and the punks from their own ranks, top to bottom if they want to have the general public trust them more than they are trusted now. These are not race issues, are some officers racist though? My experience to that question is of course some are. Do you honestly believe that there is any large profession that doesn’t have some racist employees in the ranks? But does that mean that all of their profession is racist? If you do, if you are looking for a racist, there is a very good chance that all you have to do to find a racist person is to look in your own mirror. I do believe that many of these people who are within this ‘black lives matter’ movement as well as some of these black “Reverends” who run to a camera every time a non-black cop kills a black person needs to take a long look in their own mirror, and their own souls. Everything in this world is not about race or even economics. Sometimes it is a case of arrogance and ego along with no basic morals behind the Badge and in this case in Chicago appears to be the real issue, not race.
