Revelation Chapter #2

Revelation Chapter #2

Chapter #2 is about the Church on the Earth. The Church is the bought and paid for Bride of Christ. In the first 3 chapters of this Book the Church is mentioned 19 times. Yet from chapter 4 through chapter 20 it is not mentioned at all. The logical question at this point would be, why not. The Book of Revelation is about what was, what is, and what will be. So, chapters 2 and 3 are mostly focused on the now. You will see that after chapter 3 the Church leaves the Earth. This is the answer to why the Church is not spoken of in chapters 4-20. These chapters cover what will yet be, what will happen.

When Jesus addressed these 7 Churches in Asia Minor He had a three fold message for them. His 7 messages to these 7 Churches of the late first century were direct in their meaning. By the way, the ruins of these 7 Churches still exist today if you ever feel like taking yourself a modern day vacation to the area to visit them. In John’s writing it is also obvious that he knew these Churches personally as well as there local traditions and conditions and that they knew him. Each message to each of the Churches was also a composite picture of the individual Church. All Churches are made up of individual people and they, like people, will tend to have their own personalities about them. An example would be the Church in Philadelphia and it is easy to see within our own mind and heart that the Lord addresses each Church on these matters. You see, every Church then and now must be uniform in that Jesus Christ is The Head of The Church. We must all walk our lives individually by the examples that Jesus lived and spelled out for us, as the Churches that we attend must also do. The Church is the Body of Christ, Jesus is the Head of The Church, it is not the other way around. Chronologically a panoramic history of the Church is given within these 7 Church addresses beginning from the Day of Pentecost in Jerusalem. If you will notice there are 7 periods of Church history written within these 7 addresses.

Ephesus represents the Apostolic Church and Laodicea represents the Apostate Church. The prophetic pictures John paint for us within these two addresses to these two Churches have for the most part been fulfilled. Partially this is what help in making these early chapters so interesting. John painted a well defined format that The Lord used in each of the letters to these 7 Churches. If you can remember from Chapter #1 there was some features from the Glorified Lord that was emphasized in the address to each Church, a particular thing that was emphasized for its own reason.

The Lord starts off His address to each Church with “I know your works.”  Then in most cases The Lord salutes each Church with a Commendation and then a Condemnation. But, in the cases of the Churches in Smyrna and Philadelphia He gave no condemnation. The reasons for this are simple, Smyrna was a martyr Church and Philadelphia was a missionary Church that was effectively getting out His Word. But it is also very noteworthy to notice that the Church in Laodicea received no commendation. This is because it was an apostate Church, a Church that had fallen away from the teachings of God in which it had been founded upon. Each of the 7 letters to the 7 Churches ends with the following warning, “he that has an ear let him hear what The Spirit says.” If you were wondering why these particular 7 Churches were chosen out of the hundreds that existed at that time, their location is something to consider. This area is where modern day Turkey and Greece are located. This area had a lot of importance within the Roman Empire as it is and was where the East meets the West, this is so in the case of trade, cultures and religion.

In chapter #2 you will find The Lords words to the first 4 Churches. In verses (1-7) to Ephesus. In verses (8-11) to Smyrna. In verses (12-17) to Pergamos. Then finally in verses (18-29) to the Church in Thyatira. The letters to the other three Churches you will find in chapter #3, these Churches are Sardis, Philadelphia and Laodicea. Now, if you would please consider the words The Lord had to say to these first four Churches. “Unto the Angel of the Church of Ephesus write these things which The Lord Himself has to say to them.” “I know your works and your labor and your patience. How you can not tolerate them which are evil. And how you have tried them which say they are Apostles and are not, and you have found them to be liars.  Also how you have borne burdens and have been persistent and for My Names sake have labored and have not become weak. Never the less I have something against you, because you have left your first love. Remember therefore from where you are fallen and repent and practice your first works, or else I will come unto you quickly and will remove your Candlestick our of it’s place, unless you repent.” “But there is one thing that you hate. That is the deeds of make believe Christians, which I also hate. He that has an ear let him hear what The Spirit is saying unto the Churches. To him that overcomes this world I will give to eat of the Tree of Life which is in the midst of the presence of God.” You see my friends, there is such a thing as falling away from The Truth of God and there is no such thing as once saved always saved.

Now the message from Jesus to the Church at Smyrna. ” To the Angel of the Church in Smyrna write; these things The Lord has to say to you, He which is the first and the last, which was dead and is alive.” “I know your works and your tribulation (times of great affliction) and your poverty (but you are rich). I know the blasphemy of those which say they are Jews and are not, but are of the Synagogue of Satan, fear none of those things which you shall suffer. Behold, the Devil will cast some of you into prison that you may be tested and you shall have tribulation. But if you are faithful unto death I will give you a Crown of Life. He that has an ear to hear, let him hear what The Spirit says unto the Churches. He that overcomes shall not be hurt of the Second Death.” (Second death means the permanent separation from God). Again my friends, The Lord says very plainly that we must remain faithful until our death. These Churches that do not teach this are not teaching God’s Word.

Now lets read the letter to the Church at Pergamos. “To the Angel of the Church in Pergamos write these things say’s He which has the sharp sword with two edges. I know your works and where you live. I even know where Satan’s Seat is. I know that you fold fast to My Name. And that you have not abandoned My Faith. Even in those days when Antipas was My faithful martyr who was slain among you where Satan dwells. But I have a few things against you because among you there are those that hold to the doctrine of Balaam who taught Balac to cast a stumbling block before the children of Israel. To eat things which had been sacrificed to idols and to commit fornication. You also have among you those that follow the teachings of make believe Christians which is something I hate. Repent, or else I will come unto you quickly and will fight against you with the sword of My mouth. He that has an ear let him hear what The Spirit has to say to the Churches. To him that overcomes this world I will give them to eat of the hidden manna and will give them a White Stone. And in the Stone a new name written which no man will recognize except for he that receives it.” My friends, the same thing again and again, we must remain faithful through the time of our own death. Also, that it does matter very much what the Churches are teaching to their flock. Also, it is the duty of the Body of the Church to know what the Truth is by studying God’s Word daily. It is the duty of the Body of the Church to always insist that the Church Leadership is teaching God’s Word.

Now for the last of the 4 Churches of chapter #2, Thyatira. “Unto the Angel of the Church in Thyatira write, these things saith the Son of God who has His Eyes like unto a flame of fire and His Feet are like fine brass. I know your works and charity and service and faith and your patience. But I still have a few things against you because you allow that woman Jezebel which calls herself a Prophetess to teach and to mislead My Servants to commit fornication and to eat things that have been sacrificed to idols. I gave her time to repent of her fornication but she did not repent. Behold I will cast her into a bed and those that promote pagan religious ideas with her into great troubles, unless they repent of these deeds. I will kill her offspring with death and all the Churches shall realize that I am He which Judges the wills and the hearts. And I will give unto everyone of you according to your works. But to you I say and unto the rest in Thyatira and for those who do not practice pagan doctrine and have not experienced the depths of Satan as they speak; I will put upon you no other burden. But the faith and the doctrine which you already have, hold firmly until I come. He that overcomes and maintains My works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations. He that has an ear let him hear what The Spirit saith unto the Churches.” Friends, as you can easily see The Lord Jesus does have many things to say to the Churches then and to the Churches now, just as He has a lot to say to the individual person then and to you and I today.

Understanding The Book Of Revelation: Chapters 2 & 3

Understanding The Book Of Revelation: Chapters 2 & 3

In this letter to you tonight I am just going to use about a dozen or so verses from chapters 2 and 3. I would like you to read these verses to see what you think of the subject matter, and even what the subject matter is. I want you to form your own opinions of the material to see for yourself to yourself, what you think. I will give you my opinion at the end of the letter to see if you and I were forming the same conclusions, or not.  If you think that I may be “cherry picking” material to create a false narrative of what the Scriptures are actually saying, please open up your Bible and read the full chapters of #2 and 3. I have no intention of trying to mislead you on the material at all and I do not want to accidently mislead you either. So if you would, please read these verses and see what you think. I will start with chapter 2 verse 5.

2: 5—(Jesus speaking to the Apostle John)—This is addressed to the Church at Ephesus, modern day Turkey.—“Remember therefore from where you have fallen, and repent and practice the first works; or else I will come unto you quickly, and will remove your Candlestick out of its place, unless you repent.”

2: 10—(Jesus to John about the Church in Smyrna)—“…be thou faithful unto death, and I will give you a crown of life.”

2: 13—(Jesus to John about the Church in Pergamum)—“I know where you are living, where Satan’s Throne is. Yet you are holding fast to my name, and you did not deny your faith in Me even in the days of Antipas My witness, My faithful one, who was killed among you, where Satan lives.”

2: 15—(Jesus to John, still to the Church at Pergamum)—“So you also have some who hold to the teachings of the Nicolaitans (fake Christians) Verse 16: “Repent then. If not, I will come to you soon and make war against you with the sword of My mouth.”Verse 17: “Let everyone who has an ear listen to what the Spirit is saying to the Churches. To everyone who overcomes I will give…..

2: 23—(Still Jesus to John to the Church at Thyatira)—“And all the Churches will know that I am the one who searches minds and hearts, and I will give to each of you as your works deserve. Verse 25: “Hold fast to what you have until I come. V:26—: To everyone who conquers and continue to do My works to the end, I will give authority over the nations…”

3: 3-6—(Jesus speaking to John to the Church at Sardis)—“Remember then what you received and heard; obey it, and repent. If you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what hour I will come to you. (4) Yet you still have a few persons in Sardis who have not soiled their garments; they will walk with Me, dressed in white, for they are worthy. (5) “If you conquer, (overcome the world) you will be clothed like them in white robes, and I will not blot your name out of the Book of Life, I will confess your name before My Father and before His Angels.””To anyone who has an ear listen to what the Spirit is saying to the Churches.”

3: 10-13—(Jesus to John to the Church at Philadelphia)—“Because you have kept my word of patient endurance, I will keep you from the hour of trial that is coming on the whole world to test the inhabitants of the earth. (11) I am coming soon; hold fast to what you have, so that no one may seize your Crown. (12) If you overcome I will make you a Pillar in the Temple of My God; you will never go out of it. I will write on you the name of My God, and the name of the City of My God, the New Jerusalem that comes down from My God out of Heaven, and My own new Name. (13) Let anyone who has an ear listen to what the Spirit is saying to the Churches.”

3: 15-16—(Jesus to John to the Church at Laodicea)—“I know your works; you are neither cold or hot. I wish that you were either cold or hot. (16) So, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I am about to spit you out of My mouth.”

3: 19—(Jesus to John)—“I reprove and discipline those whom I love. Be earnest therefore and repent.

3: 21—“To the one who overcomes (the ways of the world) I will give a place with Me on My Throne, just as I Myself conquered and sat down with My Father on His Throne.”

To me, my conclusion on these writings is that people of faith must keep their faith and continue in the teachings of God. We must all continue to do the teachings (works of God) or Jesus will ‘blot out” our name from the Book of Life. As the Apostle Paul stated several times that faith without works is dead and works without faith is dead. If we truly believe in Christ we will do what He asks us to do. If we do not do as He asks of us then we obviously do not love Him. This is why faith and works go together, neither one by itself will save us from the hour of destruction. The two are married together or God will spit us out like lukewarm water. Okay, your turn, what did you get from these passages?

5 of the Most Stunning Churches from Around the World

5 of the Most Stunning Churches from Around the World

Even if you’re not a religious person, there’s something humbling and awe-inspiring about the masterful architecture of beautiful churches. You can’t help but appreciate the design and effort that went into building these structures. And, you just might be surprised to find that there are eye-catching cathedrals around the world, not just in Europe.

St. Peter’s Basilica – Vatican City

Of course, we start with Europe because this is really where grandiose churches and cathedrals began. While most people might focus on France, probably one of the most iconic religious structures is also the home of the Roman Catholic Church. Next time you head to Rome, be sure to take a trip to the Vatican to visit St. Peter’s Basilica, which is technically located in Vatican City, a papal state within Italy.

The structure took roughly 120 years to build between 1520 and 1626. It is considered one of the best examples of Italian Renaissance design and was a collaborative effort from some of the era’s top creatives: Donato Bramante, Michelangelo, Carlo Maderno and Gian Lorenzo Bernini. Even though St. Peter’s Basilica is the oldest church in the world and carries significant symbolism for Catholics worldwide, it is not the mother church of the Catholic Church or even the primary cathedral for the Diocese of Rome.

Las Laras Sanctuary – Ipiales, Colombia

South America contains one of the largest demographics of practicing Catholics in the world. For a nation steeped in magical realism, the story behind Las Laras Sanctuary makes perfect sense. In 1754, an indigenous woman and her daughter claimed that they experienced a religious vision when the Mother Mary appeared to them after lightning hit a stone while they sought refuge during a storm.

Their location, Las Laras, became a religious pilgrimage site as countless followers visited it to marvel at the image of the Virgin Mary in stone—which you can still see today. A shrine was initially built in the mid-18th century, and in 1802, the shrine was converted into an actual cathedral. Today, the current Las Laras Sanctuary is a reimagination from the older sitem, built in the early 20th century. However, it’s an architectural feat because it rises 330 feet above the canyon bottom and includes a bridge that spans 160 feet to the other end of the canyon.

Notre-Dame Basilica – Montreal, Canada

It’s understandable that a country with close ties to Europe would follow in its architectural traditions. Montreal is located in Quebec, one of the two provinces in Canada that speak French. The Notre-Dame Basilica in Montreal is the first Gothic Revival style cathedral in the country. The sanctuary is best known for its colorful interior and accents. Colorful touches aren’t just limited to stained glass windows. In fact, various portions of the cathedral are painted bold blues, purples, reds and greens.

Also interesting is the fact that the stained glass windows don’t depict common scenes from the Bible. Instead, the windows show the history of Montreal. The church was initially built in 1672 and began various refurbishing and renovation projects in 1785. In 1824, a congregation boom served as the catalyst for a completely new build, giving way to the current iteration of the Notre-Dame Basilica. Construction on Notre-Dame ended completely in 1891.

Church of St. George – Lalibela, Ethiopia

Depending on how plugged in you are to religious trivia, you may or may not be surprised to find out that the largest population of Christians is actually in Africa. The Church of St. George, located in Lalibela, Ethiopia, is the oldest structure on this list and is the only one that is not a place of worship for Catholics. Built from volcanic tuff—the only material used in creating the church—construction occurred between the 12th and 13th centuries.

The Church of St. George is one of the most recognizable symbols for members of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church, a division of the Episcopal faith. The church was commissioned by King Gebre Mesqel Lalibela, who wanted to recreate Jerusalem. Because it is a rock-hewn church, it is also a UNESCO World Heritage site.

St. Andrew’s Cathedral – Singapore

Last but not least, Asia also makes this list. There are a number of beautiful cathedrals and churches across the continent, many of which are popular destination wedding sites. But Singapore often tops the list when you look at Asia because of the variety of classically built structures. And, if you have even a passing knowledge of Singapore’s colonial history, this shouldn’t be surprising.

St. Andrew’s Cathedral traces its roots to Sir Stamford Raffles, the founder of Singapore, who personally selected the land where the church stands today. The first version of the church was completed in 1837, but multiple lightning strikes caused the cathedral to be condemned in 1852. Undeterred, parishioners set to work planning the church’s replacement and opted to design it in the Early English Gothic style. Construction on the second version was completed in 1862.

Which churches do you think are the most stunning? Have you had the chance to visit any of these beautiful places yet? If not, be sure to add them to your next vacation itinerary.

Will Churches And Parents Ever Quit Lying To Children About Christmas?

Will Churches And Parents Ever Quit Lying To Children About Christmas?

This post today is about one main issue; Santa Clause. I am not saying that all parents, Christian or not, lie too their children and tell them that there is really a Santa and flying Reindeer. But at least here in America it does seem that this fantasy is one that is easy to go along with when your children are in the 3, 4, 5-year-old range. But, there reaches a point with every child where they find out that Mom and Dad have been lying to them all of their life. Why, why do so many parents ‘just go along with this’ until we reach a point where our kids are going to realize that Mom and Dad will lie to you because they have proven themselves to be liars. I have heard people a few times in my life say ‘not to ruin Christmas’ for the young kids by telling them that there is no Santa. What do they mean by ‘ruin Christmas’? If you take Santa out of Christmas what would the children have then? How about the truth? Tell your kids the Christmas birth of celebration of a baby child call Jesus. Even if you do not believe in the Christian faith letting your children know what the truth behind the question, why is there such a thing as Christmas? Even if you are Jewish, Islamic, Hindi, Buddhist, or of no faith at all, do you really want one of the first lessons your child learns about you is that you lie to them? Why can’t people just be truthful with each other, is it truly in our DNA to be liars?

In this paragraph I am calling out not just Christian parents but some of the Churches themselves. I have seen and heard first hand of community Churches where even the Pastor is the one who dresses up as Santa for plays inside the Church building. I may be old-fashioned in some of your eyes, but so be it. I know that no one can please everyone, even Jesus was/is hated, so I have learned to only concern myself with trying to please Jesus, then let all of life’s other cards just fall where ever they fall. I personally would like to know how telling our children the ‘Jesus story’ ‘ruins Christmas’? What is wrong with telling your kids that you took a part-time job this fall so that you could have the money to buy your kids a few things extra at Christmas school break? What is wrong with your kids seeing the correlation between how hard Mom and Dad are working so that their kids can have a good Christmas? Is it wrong if our small children learn of the ‘3 wise man’ whom brought gifts to the new-born child as a model for people giving gifts to their own children? Why do so many people whom call themselves Christians have Santa and crew on their front lawns? Why do some Churches do the same? Truth, what is truth? There is only one ‘Truth’, and it is not your version, or mine. We can make-up and say anything, we can call our stories ‘the truth’ if we want to but if we are not telling the actual truth, then the word for us is liars. Now, is Santa real, or is he a lie? What are we telling our children, the truth, or lies?

What Real Magic Really Is

What Real Magic Really Is

I can only speak about how things are here in the States as the only other country that I have ever visited is Canada and it has been about ten years since I have been there. I hope that other countries are not as goofy and ignorant as the masses here in the States when it comes to the so-called supernatural. If we pay any attention to the type of pictures shows at the movie theaters as well as television programs one would almost have to notice all the supernatural movies that do well. I will admit that my bride and I do like some of these shows also, we like to watch the programs Sleepy Hollow, Forever, Merlin, and Resurrection. We do tend to avoid most of the vampire, werewolf, and Witch type programs, but admittedly not all of them. We here in the States love our Super Heroes who can do super human things. We even tell ourselves there are such things as “good witches” and “good vampires”, we at times are quite foolish you know. Think of the Harry Potter programs and all of the good Witches and Warlocks, and of course all of us gullible “Muggles”. We watched and enjoyed these programs also, but to the weak or young impressionable mind, the seeds are sown.

Some Christian Churches tell their congregations that there is no such thing as Witches and Diviners even though the Scriptures are very plain that such people do exist. I do believe that here in America about 99% of the people who say they can see your future, if you have the cash, are just frauds. But, 99% is not 100% is it? Some Churches tell their congregations that there has been no magic abilities since the last Apostle of Christ died about 1,920 or so odd years ago. Doing this they do greatly err, this is saying that both God and Demons do not exist here on our plane, or, not at all. This is ignorance, this is saying that there is no such thing as evil, that all the horrible, mean, and hate filled people throughout the past 2000 years were just mean, not evil. The Devil does his greatest evil in convincing the world that He doesn’t really exist, and that God does not exist either.

I am going to finish off this post with this one main point as indeed the whole post comes down to this one issue. There are people who have Demons inside of them and there are people who are truly filled with the Spirit of God just as assuredly as there are Angles of Light and of the Dark. Here is the point friends, if you see a person who does real magic and by this I am not talking about illusionist or tricksters, but real magic, a person needs to understand that this is not a natural human ability. I of my own ability can only do human things, if I do anything that is not common to man, that power, that ability then comes to me or anyone else via either God or Satan. If you or I have the ability to do real magic we do not get or obtain that ability all on our own. So the next time you see a Diviner like a palm reader or you see a magician perform an impossible act, if it is not and illusion, that person gets their inhuman abilities from one of two different places but only from one or the other, the two never ever mix.

Both The Democratic And Republican Parties Are Anti-Christ Parties!

THE DEMOCRATIC AND THE REPUBLICAN PARTIES ARE ‘ANTI-CHRIST’ PARTIES!

(I FIRST PUBLISHED THIS ARTICLE ON SEPTEMBER 4TH OF 2016, TWO MONTHS BEFORE THE U.S. ELECTIONS.)

(THE CURRENT EVENTS HERE IN NOVEMBER OF 2017 IN ALABAMA WHERE A POLITICAL CANDIDATE ‘ROY MOORE’ WHO HAS A 40+ YEAR HISTORY OF SEXUALLY ABUSING VERY YOUNG GIRLS IS BEING ALLOWED TO CAMPAIGN FROM THE PULPIT OF A BAPTIST CHURCH. FOLKS, THIS IS VERY DETRIMENTAL TO,  THE OPPOSITE OF THE TEACHINGS OF JESUS CHRIST. CHRISTIAN CHURCHES AND EVEN PEOPLE WHO CALL THEMSELVES CHRISTIANS WHO ARE BACKING SUCH A PIECE OF ‘LUKE WARM WATER’ ARE WALKING UP TO THE CROSS AND SLAPPING CHRIST IN THE FACE BY THEIR ACTIONS!) (trs)

When I was a young child back in the 1950’s-60’s I was raised in a family who believed in the Democratic Party. My parents were folks who believed in the reality that working people if they wanted to be able to financially survive needed Union protections. They also believed that the Republican Party was solely for the wealthiest people and was clearly anti-working people. They also believed that the Democratic Party, because they cared about the poor was the party that the Churches backed. I never remember going to a Church that had a Republican Minister simply because the Republicans agendas were in direct contrast to the love, kindness and sharing teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ.

In 1973 the U.S. Supreme Court with their ruling on ‘Roe v Wade’ abortion ruling seemed to change the political map within the Churches. The teachings of abortion within the Scriptures are definitely anti-abortion yet almost all of the Churches and their Ministers remained as Democrats because they could not transcend over to a Party (Republicans) who were against basically all of the teachings of Jesus about how we should all treat each other. Yet, my question is how can a Church, a Minister, or their congregation openly or even behind closed door’s back abortion? How can you say you or a Minister (that word means, Servant) say you are a Christian (follower of Christ) and at the same time back abortion?

What I do not understand is why the people who say they are Christians have not created a third National Party! The Democratic Party strongly backs a woman’s “right” to have an abortion at any time during a pregnancy. The Republican Party wants to end all abortions seeing them as the murdering of over a million children here in the U.S. each year. So, Republicans have garnered the “conservative Christians” into their camp because of the abortion issue. This is even though the Republican Party Platform is still strongly anti-working people, and anti the people having the right to work under Union protections.

I am a registered voting Independent because I see both Parties as crooked and pure evil. When the people go to the polls this November we just like every other election know that either a Republican or a Democrat is going to win at every level of Government. To vote for anyone else is nothing more than a protest vote that has no effect on who actually wins the elections, it will be a Democrat or a Republican. So, just like this November we Voters are having to consider which one of the two Evils win. Especially concerning the Presidency this year, which Evil is less Evil, that is what we have to look forward to. For either of these political parties to claim to be close or closer to God is total BS. Evil is still Evil, neither of these Political Parties has the endorsement of the Scriptures of God, so how can anyone who calls themselves a Christian or Jewish endorse or support either of these Demonic structures? I used the title of them being anti-Christ, I am not saying that either Parties leadership is ‘the anti-Christ’. What I am saying is that both Parties policies are in direct indifference to the teachings of God’s Holy Scriptures, thus both Parties are Anti-Christ!

Just Sitting In Morristown Tennessee

Two years wasted here in Gatorville U.S.A.

Poor paying work, then my health went away

Low wages, a safety net I could never get made

Can’t work while you’re ill, so the job went away

States broke, no help at all for white single males

Gotta move on when you can’t pay your own way

Put your thumb in the air, hope for the best and pray

Can’t stay if you can’t work, here they’ll throw you in jail

Can’t go south, only the jail cells name would change

Lose all you’ve worked for if your health fails you here

Thumb pointing north, hopefully I’ll find a friendlier place to live

Caught a ride through the Tomahawk let out up in Choo-Choo Tennessee

Now walking north thumb in the air headed toward the Cavalier State

Families roots up in the Blue Ridge, about five days walk from here

Two day’s of walking toward K-town, feet, back, and chest are on fire

Back roads you gotta walk, blue light specials ruin your day if you don’t

Now in a place called Morristown, another step I just can not walk

Parked my back against a pole that say’s Cumberland and Main

Pulled out my harmonica, trying to take my mind off of the pain

People here seem friendly, several gathering round to hear me play

Wasn’t long before the police came doubted was for the music to hear

Figured if I was lucky they would just tell me to get up and go away

Shocked the life right out of me when they asked if I had a place to stay

They got me lined up with a shelter, with a bag of groceries along the way

They checked, no warrants, just a man down on his health and luck

Treated me like a man, told me that here is a place I’m welcome to stay

This town has lots of true Christian folks, they’re not just one in name

If they know that you’re trying, they will help you when you’re down

They helped get me a furnished room where now my head I can lay

Now have some food in the cabinets and some extra clothes on the bed

Central Services, a Church and Goodwill helped, kindness on display

Within two days I had a job, now in a Bluegrass Band five nights a week I play

On Sundays I play piano at the Church, giving back a helping hand I give my way

No comparisons to how I was treated when my health went out in the Sun Shine State

I’m not to far from Dollywood, beautiful Smokey’s just to the south so pleasing to see

Here even when you’re down and out, if your willing to get off your butt they will help

Some of the finest Christian people you could ever meet, here in Morristown Tennessee

China’s “Head Of Religious Affairs” Nor President Jinping Have Any Clue What Religion Is

(THIS ARTICLE IS COURTESY OF FOX NEWS AND THE ASSOCIATED PRESS)

China: Willing to have talks with Vatican but Catholics must be patriots

China’s head of religious affairs said that Beijing is willing to have constructive dialogue with the Vatican but stressed that Catholics should “hold up high the flag of patriotism” and adapt Catholicism to Chinese society.

Wang Zuo’an, the director of the State Administration for Religious Affairs, made the remarks Tuesday at a meeting of China’s official Catholic Church, which includes bishops, priests and lay Catholics, state media reported.

Beijing insists that the party-controlled Chinese Catholic Patriotic Association has the authority to appoint Chinese bishops, a right that the Holy See says belongs to the pope alone. This dispute over bishop nominations is the most vexing stumbling block preventing the re-establishment of diplomatic relations.

China severed relations with the Holy See in 1951 after the Communists took over, and the officially atheistic government closed churches and imprisoned priests, some for decades. Worship is officially allowed only in state-authorized churches outside the pope’s authority, although many of China’s estimated 12 million Catholics are thought to attend underground churches.

Wang said the Chinese government hoped that the Vatican can adopt a flexible and pragmatic attitude, and take concrete actions to create favorable conditions for improving relations, according to the official Xinhua News Agency. No details were given of what actions Beijing expects.

The ruling Communist Party has long feared that opposition to its rule could be spread by religious and other civic groups outside its control. In May last year, President Xi Jinping called for religions to adapt to Chinese society, which he termed the “sinicization of religion.”

On Tuesday, Wang stressed the importance of patriotism within religion and “pushing ahead with the sinicization of Catholicism.”

Pope Francis said earlier this year that Beijing and the Vatican have resumed working groups on the naming of bishops issue and that he is “optimistic” for an agreement, but that it will take time.

Just last week, the Vatican said it was saddened that the ordination of two new Chinese bishops was marred by the presence of a bishop ordained without the pope’s consent.

It also said it was awaiting the outcome of this week’s meeting of the Chinese Catholic Church and hoped it would give Catholics in China confidence in the Vatican-China dialogue.

Understanding The Book Of Revelation: Chapter #1

Revelation Chapter #1

The Book of Revelation is the Book that explains the end! The end? Yes, this Book explains the end of the Earth as we all know it, and it explains the end of the human race here on this planet as we know it. Revelation is a Book of prophesy about how our world will end. This Book, this Letter, was written by the Apostle John who was a Roman prisoner on the Isle of Patmos in the eastern Mediterranean in approximately the year 95 A.D.. This Book is the Revelation of the Son of God the Father Jehovah, our Lord Jesus the Christ. The material came from an Angel of Jesus Christ at the direction of Jesus and Jesus is the main character within its pages.

The style of the writing, the consistency show quite well that this Book was written by one person. John received this Apocalyptic information through direct words, signs and visions. Some folks wish to argue that this is not the writing of John the Apostle because the writing style is different from the other four Books that he wrote in the New Testament. This argument is (in my opinion, silly) the reason I say this is that John was a prisoner on a small island so it is quite logical that he did not have a Scribe to take down his words to write it for him. Like the other New Testament Books Revelation was written in the Greek Language which would not have been John’s first language, and with no Scribe, his Greek was not as fluid as in his other Books. Some people try to discredit this Book out of ignorance or the hate of Christianity or of God in general, there are also those who are simply Demonically evil who do not want us humans to understand God’s warnings to us. Friends, remember that the Demons, including Satan Himself have already been judged and they know that when this system is completed, they will be cast straightway into the fires of Hell and they want every single one of us humans to be there with them, for them to torture for ever and ever. Of all of the Books in the Bible this is the one Book that the Devil and His followers hate the most. Think about this for a moment, Revelation is like the last script of a movie or a play, if you want to find out how the play ends, read ‘The Ending.’ Folks, the ‘Ending’ is laid out for all of us humans in this Book. Friends, for any human who is not a follower of and a person who puts their faith and love in Jesus Christ, our ‘second death’ is shown to us quite plainly in this Book. The end of times here on this planet are going to be horrific for those who are non believers, I pray that you will not be one of them.

This Book is the Revelation that God the Father gave to His Son who was/is ‘The Christ’ for an Angel to give to the servants of Jesus Christ so that His servants would know the things that will come to pass here on the Earth. This Angel of God gave this information to the last surviving Apostle, John, for John to circulate amongst the Church. To John’s credit he did bear witness as he was instructed to do. As instructed John wrote this ‘Letter’ to the seven Churches of Asia-minor (modern-day Turkey). Jesus is spoken of as He which was, He which is, and He which is to come. You see, Jesus is the faithful witness of His Father that no human has ever seen (His Face). Friends, Jesus was the ultimate sacrifice whose blood washed away the sins of the human race making it possible for us to be clean in the presence of God. For a moment please think about verse number seven, “behold Jesus will come in the clouds and every eye shall see Him, they also which pierced Him, all the people’s of the Earth shall wail because of Him.” At the Second Advent of Jesus think how horrible a sight it will be for all the people of the Earth who have turned their back on Him. Think how horrific this event will be to those who spat on, whipped and mocked Him, and how much more so for those who drove the nails into Him. Jesus will be returning with His Holy Angels in the clouds and everyone will see Him, and every knee will bow before Him.

John was in prayer and meditation when he heard a great voice behind him say, v:3 “I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.” (v:11) “I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last, what you are seeing write in a book and send it to the Churches which are in Asia. Unto Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamos, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia and to Laodicea.” Now, if you would, place yourself in John’s spot. When John turned around to see whose voice it was that was speaking to him, he saw seven Golden Candlesticks. In the midst of the seven Golden Candlesticks stood a man who looked a lot like Jesus. The man was clothed down to his feet and wrapped around his waist was a Golden Girdle. His head and His hair were white like wool which was as white as snow. His eyes were like the flame of a fire. His feet were like that of a fine Brass as it glowed in a furnace. His voice was like unto the sound of many waters.

The Lord had in His right hand Seven Stars, and out of His mouth came a sharp two-edged sword. The Lord’s appearance was like unto the shining of the Sun in its strength. When John saw Him he fell at His feet as if he were dead. Now I admit that I also love the Lord with all my heart, mind and Soul but I think that there is a good chance that my heart would have stopped if I had turned and seen this site myself. Now let’s get back to the Scriptures starting with verse #17. At this time the Lord put His right hand upon John and said to him “Fear not, I am the First and the Last, I am He that lives and was dead. Behold I am alive forever more and I have the keys to Hell and to death.” “Write the things which you have seen, the things which are and the things which shall be hereafter.”  (v-20) “The mystery of the seven Stars which you saw in My right hand, and the seven Golden Candlesticks. The seven Stars are the seven Angels of the seven Churches: and the seven candlesticks which you saw are the seven Churches.”

This completes the first chapter of this fascinating book of Prophecy. This first chapter simply lays the foundation for the rest of this really interesting story on the events that are here now, and that are coming for everyone who calls Earth their home.  Chapter number two is the messages that God has for those seven Churches in Asia-minor. Yet, don’t be fooled, the messages God has for those Churches, those people, are also directed at all Churches and all people. There are 22 chapters in this last Book of the Bible and each chapter has eternity shaking messages for all of us human beings, I hope that you will join me as we go through these messages from our Creator, to all of us. Thank you for your time, I appreciate you very much.

Muslim Terrorists Make Vicious Attack And Slaughter Thirty Four Christians And Burn Down Over One Hundred Of Their Homes

By  Theodore ShoebatMuslim terrorists in Nigeria made a vicious attack on Christians recently, slaughtering thirty four Christians and burning down over one hundred of their homes. According to one report on this very sad story:

More than 34 people in predominantly Christian villages in Kauru in the Nigerian state of Kaduna were killed in the attack carried out by 200 Fulani herdsmen on Nov. 13. The attackers also destroyed over 100 houses and other properties of the villagers.

Yohanna Gandu, an official of Chawai Community Development Association, told International Christian Concern (ICC) that the perpetrators came from the direction of the neighboring Plateau State, Ganawuri.

It was reported that about three to four thousand people were displaced from the villages of Kitakum, Kigam, Angwan Rimi, Angwan Magaji and Angwan Makera as a result of the attacks.

The Southern Kaduna Peoples Union (SOKAPU) said in a press statement that the elderly and children as young as two years old were among the victims of the attack.

“The villages were burnt to the ground. No house was left standing in Kigam village. The most pathetic is the picture of children less than two years also killed. Children, youths, women, the aged and the infirm were all victims,” said the organization in the statement.

SOKAPU asserted that the government has not taken any action to protect the villages that are often attacked by the militants despite appeals from the villagers.

“The pattern that has emerged, sadly now, is that attacks occur with impunity usually followed by fire fighting and feeble cosmetic measures by security agencies and the government that have failed to yield any dividend,” the group added.

SOKAPU has called on the government to increase its efforts to prevent further attacks.

The Fulani herdsmen are also said to be responsible for continuing attacks in other parts of Nigeria’s Middle Belt.

According to a report from World Watch Monitor, the Fulani herdsmen have killed 826 Christians and injured 878 people in the Middle Belt state of Nasarawa between January 2013 and May 2016.

Apart from the killings, the militants have destroyed 787 houses, nine shops and 32 vehicles. As many as 102 churches were reported destroyed or damaged. About 21,000 Christians are now living in Internally Displaced Person (IDP) camps inside and outside Nasarawa.
