Good evening everyone, I hope that this letter finds you all well and I hope that you find this subject matter interesting and an enjoyable read. A lot of the time folks tend to think of the Lord’s 12 Apostles when they hear the word Disciple and it is true that the 12 Apostles were Disciples also. The meaning of the word Disciple means ‘a follower’ but to be an Apostle a person would have to have been a person who had seen the Lord Jesus and heard His own words from His own mouth and would have had to be chosen personally by Jesus Himself. Obviously there are no Apostles of Christ alive here on the Earth today. The last of the 12 Apostles was John who is credited with writing the Book of Revelation, the last Book of the New Testament. John was also the only one of the 12 who was not murdered for his service to Christ. He was imprisoned, beaten and banished by the Romans but he wasn’t murdered.
Those of you who have some Scriptural knowledge know that even an Apostle, one who heard and witnessed the words and miracles of Jesus for three years could, can and did become a disciple of the Devil before his death. Jesus Himself said that it was better for the man Judas who betrayed Him if he had never been born. For it was for this purpose, this act of betrayal that Judas was brought into this world. In the Book of Luke 22:3 it is written, “Then entered Satan into Judas surnamed Iscariot.” Simply meaning that the Devil or one of His Demons possessed him, took control over him. What a personal horrible thing for this man because the next time that he would see Jesus with his own eyes will be at his judgement before Christ.
Disciple, in Mr. Websters Dictionary it reads, follower, one who takes another as a teacher and model. Training that produces orderliness, Obedience and self control. All of these things that Mr. Webster say’s about being a disciple (of Christ) is exactly what I want to be, a faithful follower of Jesus Christ. This is also what I wish for, hope and pray for everyone reading this letter to become before they die. Everyone, and yes I do mean everyone is a disciple of something, some one. Yes, that does mean you too. Everyone is known by their works, the things that we do and say. Everyone around us each day does judge the things we say and do, fair or not, it is still so. None of us are saved by our works, our deeds, but we are known by them. We are all saved by the Grace of God not by our works but if we are indeed followers of Christ, our works will show that. This is why we must all walk in the Light, in the footsteps, the Path of the Lord each and every day. If we choose to walk an evil path then we are not disciples, followers of Christ, we are a follower of the Devil if our works are evil.
If a person says, well what if I don’t believe that Jesus is and was the Son of God? My friends, if you have someone in your life who is not a believer, please, please, please do your very best to be a shining light of goodness for their sake. Try your best to help them by the examples that you live by. You do not have to be preaching at people to convert them toward the love of God, live the most perfect life that you can, be an example for them, they will notice. Friends, God is love and He does not want anyone to perish but that everyone would have everlasting life through Him. Remember folks, even though something may be legal for us to do it is not always prudent for us to do it. For example, it is legal for me to go into a bar or even a strip club and sit down and drink till I can’t hardly stand up and it is legal for me to watch the ladies dance and tip them if we want to but, what about the folks around us, will they see us and think, wow, is this the Christian way? If we by our actions hurt another persons view of what being a Christian is and they turn their back on becoming a follower of Christ and they perish without Christ, their blood will be on our hands. This may seem harsh yet it is the truth that if we are not walking in the light of the Lord Jesus then we are walking in the darkness of this world unto our own destruction. Can we not stay faithful for even a little while? This life is but the blink of the eye in the terms of eternity. What is 80 human years when it is compared to billions of years of eternity?
I pray for everyone of us, I pray for everyone’s Soul. The Devil puts so much in each of our path’s, He wishes that each of us stumble in the darkness that He casts. He wants everyone of us to die in darkness. The Devil is like unto a raging Lion walking the Earth everyday looking for people and Souls to devour. The Devil wants you, your Parents, Grandparents, your Children, your Brothers and Sisters, everyone you know and love to go to Hell, literally! He and His Angels (Demons) hate everyone of us. You see, Satan and thousands of Angels fought a battle for Heaven and they lost, now those former Angels are Satan’s Demons and there are thousands of them. All of these Demons have already had their Judgement, they know that when Christ returns they will be cast straightway into the fires of Hell. Earth is for them like the midway point, a stopping off point on the way to their final destination of Hell and they are very very angry about it. They know that God loves us and that we measly little humans have the chance to live in Glory as they used to do so they are doing everything that they can to make sure that none of us get to live in Paradise with God. Friends, each of us really need to ask ourselves the question, if we were to die today or if Christ returned today and put an end to this world, who are we a disciple of. Everyone is either a Disciple of God, or we are a Disciple of the Devil, it really is an either or situation for each of us.
