Holy Man By Choice, And/Or By Grace

HOLY MAN/OR WOMAN BOTH CHOICE AND GRACE

Like it or not we all are what we are

We can choose our path, to the light or the dark

If we choose to walk in darkness, that is our choice

The light still shines even then, if we choose to see

We choose to walk in and stay in the light or the dark

Not by accident, it is a choice that each of us make

I am what I am because I love the Son of God,

But do we love God more than the toys of man

We all sin daily for just like you, I am just a man

If I forgive, and hold not against you

Will you in like kindness, give, as I give to you

Being a Man of God is an honor given

Not from our own righteousness, but grace

For such kindness is given, only from above

It is difficult to have the heart of a hawk

And yet to have the spirit of a dove

Being a Man of God, is something I long prayed for

To have a soul full of God’s Spirit, love and Grace

Always willing to speak what you now know is the truth

The world will rage at the words that you dare to speak

Being kind, decent, and loving is no life for the meek!

Philosophy Poem: Eyes

Philosophy Poem: EYES

Time like a breeze passes by us all

With age our eyes will grow dim

Will we know the voices that we hear

When we cannot see the speaker

Will our loved ones be know to us

My children, my voice, will they obey it

Will my wife deceive me before my face

Will I have to feel the arms of my children

My daughter, will I only know you by your scent

I pray my Lord my loved ones play me for no fool

Lord, please let your light in me always remain

Samson fooled by a harlot to his own disgrace

Walking in darkness the sand is truly shifty

You are the Light O Lord to my life and Soul

All men have eyes when the Spirit of God is inside

Poem: Praying For God’s Judgement

Lord, why is it that You stand so far from us

Lord, why do You hide Yourself from our troubles

You say that You hate the mouth of a wicked man

Yet the blood of the poor lays upon the Jailers floor

All Branches of government their mouth’s are full of deceit

Your ways are grievous to them, they see You as empty air

Our Leaders murder the innocent and steal all the poor have

The Rulers crouch like Lions hiding behind vain promises

These Liars, thieves and murders think You do not exist nor see

Lord rise up, lift up Your hand, forget not those who love You

I know that You have seen their transgressions, strike them Lord

The rich and the powerful buy the fatherless to be their slaves

The poor and the weak we commit our lives to Your Holiness

Lord break evils grip upon the Earth so no more blood they spill

(The idea for this piece came from the 10th Psalm)

(Theology Poem) Your Blood, My Sins

YOUR BLOOD, MY SINS

Lord, You bled and You died, for all the likes of me

My body and my Soul that was so filled with sins

Lord my only doubts has been my worthiness of Thee

Riches I have never sought yet in darkness I still walked

With Your love, Your blood, all barriers You’ve broken

Lord, Your Eyes, You have set upon the likes of me

Lord Your Blood does baptize both heart and Soul

My fears are diluted in Thy Holy Heart and Blood

I fear not this life nor the death that is soon to come

For my sins are washed in the Holy Blood of the Son

Who Are The Two Prophets Of The Book Of Revelation?

Who Are The Two Prophets Of The Book Of Revelation?

In the last book of the Christian Bible, the book of Revelation in the 11th chapter in verses 3 through 12 we are told of two Prophets that God will send to the Earth during the first half of the “great tribulation”. This will be during the time between the sounding of the sixth and of the seven trumpets that will be sounded from Heaven. These two men will be here on Earth just outside of Jerusalem for 42 months and they will be hated by the people because of the torments they put upon the Earth. After the 42 months the Devil will kill them and their bodies will lay in the street for three and a half days and the people will rejoice because of their deaths. But after the three and a half days God will raise them up upon their feet in front of their enemies and call them back up to Heaven, shortly after there will be a great earthquake and ten percent of the city shall fall and thousands will die from it. Today I am going to speak with you about who these two Prophets are, and where they came from.

Throughout both the New and the Old Testaments all but two people died while here on the Earth. Most people can tell you about one of them, the Prophet Elijah, but do not know of the other. By the way, the name Elijah in Hebrew means “Yahweh is God”. The story of Elijah being called up to Heaven is found in the book of 2nd Kings verses 1-15, this would be in the 6th century BC., the actual verse is #11. In case a few of you are wondering, no Elijah wasn’t God. In a lot of nations and cultures people are given names that actually have a meaning, a definition, unlike white folks names here in America that have no meaning behind them.

The other man who did not die while he was upon the Earth was named Enoch, he was five generation from Adam. You can find the story of Enoch in Genesis, the first book of the Bible in the 5th chapter. Enoch lived for 65 years and then his wife gave birth to a son named Methuselah who lived longer than any recorded human, 969 years. After the birth of Methuselah Enoch lived another 300 years. In Genesis 5:24 the passage says “Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.) In the New Testament book of Luke 3:37 we are told that Methuselah was an ancestor to Christ so obviously Enoch was also. If you are wondering when in history theses events happened remember the 969 years that Methuselah lived? Noah time on Earth was after this time period.. The terms used in Genesis 6:9 are like the words spoken about Enoch in 5:24,”… Noah was a just man and perfect in his generation, and Noah walked with God.” The difference here is that Noah was not taken by God, Noah continued to live and had three sons that went with him when he built the Ark. Enoch is easy to forget about because his life was so long ago and not all that much is written about him unlike the Prophet Elijah over 4000 years later.

Throughout all of recorded time of the human race all but these two people have died. Even Jesus Himself had to die while He was here in human form. Almost all of the recorded Prophets of the Old Testament were murdered as Jesus was, yet even the few who did not get murdered, except for these two, they all still died, even Moses the “friend of God, died. In the New Testament all of the Apostles except for the Apostle John were murdered, yet even John did die. John wrote the book of Revelation while on the Roman prison island of Patmos in the years of 95-96 AD. This was apx 30 yrs after the Romans executed the Apostles Paul (AD 64) and Peter (AD 68) just outside of Rome. John, Moses, and all the other devout followers of God had to suffer death, except for these two Old Testament men, Enoch and Elijah. In Revelation chapter 11 verse’s 3 and 4 it reads, (God speaking) ” And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy (preach) a thousand two hundred and three score day, (3 1/2 yrs) clothed in sackcloth.” These are the two olive trees and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the Earth”. They came from God and they will go back to God. Could I be wrong about these two men being Elijah and Enoch? Does the Bible anywhere spell it out in plain Greek or Hebrew that it is these two? No, it doesn’t. Could I possibly be wrong about it being these two, it’s possible, but from all the information given to us in the Bible there is nothing else that comes close to making any sense. The Lord has made it very plain that He does not want His followers to be ignorant or uninformed. We are told plainly that He wants us to study the Scriptures daily so that we will know what they say.

Before I put these posts in that I write I spend a lot of time in prayer, praying for His guidance through His Spirit which indwells His believers/followers. I have spent a little over 50 years studying the Scriptures and I know that every time I read through them my eyes are opened to more knowledge from them. Did God Himself talk to me and tell me in a “voice” that these are the two Prophets of Revelation? No, but I have told you now what He has told me, and all of us, through His Scriptures. Will this one piece of information save anyone’s Soul? No, but if it will get anyone to dig into the Scriptures to try to prove me incorrect, then I have accomplished my goal. The goal of getting more folks to think and to open their Bible for the purpose of learning of God’s Word and of God’s love for us all.

Putting God First: I know I Haven’t Always

Putting God First: I know I Haven’t Always

Do you remember the commandment that says”thou shall not lie”? Do you personally believe that if you are asked at your judgement, did you put God first in your life that you can honestly look God in His eyes and say yes? If you can I honor you for I know that if I said such a thing it would be a lie and of course God knows the answers before He asks the questions. But can I ever say that I have put God first in anything, ever, can you? My answer to this version of the question would be yes, I believe that would be and honest answer? But, do I put God first in my daily life right now, everyday, any day? This is a question that can be very difficult to answer because it can and will vary by the things that we personally believe to be truth. There are some people who think that to be a “holy person” that they must spend their lives on their knees in front of a church altar in prayer while they are flogging themselves. Personally I do not believe this at all, but ones faith is and is supposed to be, a personal one with God. We all have different talents and abilities in physical matters and we have different talents in spiritual matters as well. Our own personal relationship with God is exactly that, our own personal relationship with Him. We will all be judged by how we preformed our daily lives. I cannot save you nor can I condemn you, this is a burden/cross that each person carries on their own each step, each breath, each heart beat of their own life.

When a person accept’s Jesus as the Christ, the Son of God, is buried in baptism, then he/she is raised a new creature. Do you understand this meaning? You see when we accept Jesus as our personal Savior we are given the Spirit of God within us, it is this “Holy Spirit” that makes us a new creature, a new being. When we accept Jesus as our personal Savior we are no longer our own, we belong to God. But, do we act any different from everyone else who is “of the world”? If we are no different when we come up out of the water (different mind-set) all we really did was to get our self wet. God knows His own, when He calls His own, His own know His voice because God’s Spirit is “God within us” and yes, He does know His own voice. What this does mean though is that anyone who does not have the “Spirit of God” indwelling them when they/we die we will be condemned at the Judgement Seat of God. In our humans lives if we in our daily adventures do not keep God at the fore front of our decisions as in “what would Jesus do” we can not honestly expect great results in our daily lives to be showered upon us by God.

In my opinion I am never going to be “good enough” on my own to honestly be able to say “I deserve” for God to treat me great each day or to even protect me from the worlds evils each day. This is why I personally am so grateful for “God’s grace” because “my works” in my opinion, will never be perfect enough to suffice for my own salvation. We do not live under the “old law” (Old Testament) that the Jewish people were assigned by God about 4,000 years ago. Under the ‘Old law’ you could be saved by your works even if you had little faith. If a person followed the Ten Commandments there was a real good chance they would be safe when they died and went to their judgement before the Throne of God, as long as you were of the Royal Blood Line given from God to the Hebrew people. The House of Israel is still special to God but they lost their exclusiveness to salvation because of not following the teaching and commandments of their God so God through Jesus (The Christ, The Messiah, The Promised One)  made a path for all of us gentiles to obtain salvation also (New Testament).

Now back on track, do I put God first everyday of my life? Do I open my eyes in the mornings and the first thought (after addressing the need to pee) is to wash my hands and face and pray thanking our Creator for His grace and kindness? Do I thank God before each meal for the food and lodging? I have to admit that at times I have been slack in my thank you’s to God for all of His kindness and grace to me throughout this life time He has given me. How would you answer these questions if no one else was around to hear the answers? I know that I am not a perfect person and that I have committed many different sins in my life time, I know that on my own merits I would be condemned at my judgement. I know that only by Gods grace do I actually have a chance at salvation. I personally am very glad that the people of Israel 2-4,000 years ago fell short of their adherence to ‘The Law” given exclusively to them, if they had not messed up, you and I would have zero chance of salvation. Yes we are all know to others by the works that we do each day, good or bad. We are now all commanded to live by faith for without faith it is impossible to please God. If we truly do love God then we will follow His directions to love one another as ourselves. There is truth in the fact though that some people are never going to except the love of God because their hearts are filled with hate and ignorance. When we encounter such people we are to shake the dust of our feet off as a sign against them. Not everyone is going to be faithful to God in their daily walk of life, you and I, we must always be careful to live a life of faithfulness to God if we actually care about Him. Do I always put God first everyday, all day? All I can say is thank you Lord for your kindness and your grace to us sinners.

(Poem Of Faith) Knowing Comfort

KNOWING COMFORT

Comfort is knowing and living a Holy Spirit led life

Though we be dead to the world in Christ ye shall arise

From the shout of an Archangel we shall see Jesus on High

The dead shall arise and they shall not die the second time

If we love the Lord we shall again see our loved ones smiles

It is wrong to be idle, do your work to help save all you know

Work with your hands yet study the will of God to survive

Without love, without faith, the Lord’s Spirit does not abide

For who will defraud their Mother and starve their own child

A father or mother who loves their child will give them comfort

It is the will of our Creator that we should all be morally clean

We have all been given the charge to be comfort one to another

The world cannot see nor understand the Spirit of God within us

Ask for what we need in God’s name, His Spirit intercedes for us

If we love Christ then keep His commandments and know His comfort
