Blasphemy: What Is It And Is It Something That Actually Matters

Blasphemy: What Is It And Is It Something That Actually Matters

When I write these letters to you I always try my best to only give you factual information. I know that this website is quite eclectic in its material as I post things that are of interest to me figuring that at least some of you will have some interest in the things that I write and that I forward from other folks blogs. Today I have chosen to write to you concerning the word Blasphemy. When I write to you I pull information from my own life’s experiences, history books, dictionaries, encyclopedias, or directly from Scriptures. I checked Mr. Webster’s dictionary about the word Blasphemy and it gave the definitions of to talk profanity, to speak irreverently of. In the index of my King James Bible it says Blasphemy is: cursing God, arises out of pride, hatred, affliction, injustice and defiance. I believe that most of us can get a pretty good understanding of the word from these definitions. Are you aware that during the earliest days of the Nation of Israel that if a person even heard someone curse that they then became “unclean.’ Wow, how things have changed from the culture then to what it is now.

A person who is of this world today may look at how things are in society and go, so, whats wrong with it. But, not all people who are not of the Spirit (God’s Holy Spirit) are as blind as that.  Just as it is so that a person will not quit smoking or drinking or quit taking illegal drugs until the person actually really wants to quit down deep inside themselves. As it is also true that until each one of us deep inside ourselves decides to let go of this world and cling to and totally trust in our Creator all day, every day that we will not totally understand true peace. This is when we truly put our Creator first. God will call His own and His own will hear and know His voice this is because His Holy Spirit is within His own, so yes, He knows His own voice.

The opposite of the Light is darkness. If our bodies are the Tabernacle (dwelling place) of the Holy Spirit would we of our own choice blaspheme our own Creator? When we see and or hear a person swear as though they were proud of their words are we truly saddened or at least hurt just a little bit inside ourselves? When we hear the Lord’s name used in cursing does it hurt us, does it anger us at least a little?

Blasphemy comes from pride, hatred, affliction, injustice and defiance and these are all creations of this world, of the flesh. Honestly, do we see these traits to be within the domain of God? Do we see the reality here, or, is this just a parable to us? When that final trumpet sounds at our grave site and the last note of taps floats away on the breeze what condition will each of our Souls be in? Everyone of us have flaws in our bodies and in our actions! Remember, the Spirit is willing but the body (the flesh) is weak.

There are many sins that do not fall under the definition of blasphemy, things like murder, rape, false imprisonment, torture as is true of many other horrible human actions like bearing false witness and lying. In our own mind, do we consider any of these to be the “ways of God”? Everyone is a Light, a person of God is suppose to be a bright Light to God and an evil person is a dark light which leads to evil and Hell. Our friends, neighbors, family and co-workers see our light whether it is dark or light and even if only within themselves they judge us by our actions. Is it any less obvious that our Creator watches us and listens to us? What is it that He sees when he looks at you or me? What will He have to say to us about how we lived our life when we are bowed at His feet and it’s our turn at the Judgement Seat Of Christ?

Just think what kind of a world it would be without things like pride, hatred, injustice or any type of Blasphemy. On the day the Lord takes His Seat upon the Throne of David in the New Jerusalem all of these worldly faults will be in the world no longer. I pray that through each of our lights we will by our actions within our daily lives have drawn many others to the Light that is Christ. I pray and I wish so much that everyone will be a partner in His Light, unfortunately this is not so nor will it be so until after the Last Trumpet sounds. Even Jesus Himself spoke of the one unforgivable sin, blasphemy towards the Holy Spirit.

Friends, I hope that you have enjoyed the read today. Hopefully some of you now have a better understanding of the meaning of, the definition of the word blasphemy. It is a creation of darkness, there is no Godly Light in it. And to whomever the light of darkness is in shall be cast from the Light of God into utter darkness which is called the second death, separation from God forever. I hope and I pray that you and your loved ones lights through God’s Holy Spirit shines forever. In the love of our Lord Jesus I thank your for your time in reading this letter to you.
