(Philosophy Poem) We Will Miss Them More, When They Are Gone

We Will Miss Them More, When They Are Gone

Until 30 I had lost no close family in my life

Within 9 months Mother-in-Law and Grandpa died

You know this time will come if you don’t sleep first

During the 90’s so many loved ones crossed that veil

Having your Brother pass on your birthday is a Pill

At 37 you become the Patriarch the old one of the family

Tear stained stones and grass stained knees do abound

Loved Ones Names written in Stone, this hurts way down

You can’t pray loved ones into Heaven, their walk is done

We can hope and pray that one day we will see them again

Do we walk our life in love, or is our ground salted in hate

All of our Loved Ones they will disappear, slide from our sight

While They were alive did we live as though we even cared

Will we make even a ripple when we’re put beneath the ground

Lord, please help us when in the darkness we find, we’re all alone
