Adolf Hitler: The Beautiful Artwork Of A Monster

LOWLIFE MAGAZINE

What many people don’t know about Adolf Hitler — one of the greatest evils the world has ever seen — is that he was a prolific artist, too. In the early 1900s (ca. 1905–1910), Hitler lived a somewhat bohemian life, that of a vagabond and an aspiring artist. In 1907, and again in 1908, right around the time he was working casually as a journeyman and selling his watercolour paintings of Vienna sights, he attempted to enrol in the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, only to be rejected. The reason cited was that of an “unfitness for painting”.

Dismayed by the rejection and grieving the death of his mother in 1907, it wouldn’t be long before political and theological ideology became a mainstay of the life and times of Adolf Hitler. To this day, the origin and first proclamation of Hitler’s anti-Semitism are open to debate.
