The Devil Walks: War Profiteer Dick Cheney Reemerges as Trump Surrogate to Push for ExxonMobil CEO Tillerson Appointment

Fat–as the Death-birds on Iraq’s shore,
That glutted themselves in gore
” (Adapted from Shelley, 1812)
John Martin Pandemonium

War Profiteer “Vampire” Dick Cheney reemerged to push for ExxonMobil CEO Rex Tillerson’s appointment.
Vampire 1864 red tone

Politico author Eliana Johnson observes (12/16/16): “Cheney emerges as surprise Trump surrogate. The president-elect trashed his foreign policy during the campaign, but they’ve found common cause in Rex Tillerson.

Russia’s government-owned Rosneft and ExxonMobil had made an agreement which would essentially create a petroleum MegaCartel, but the sanctions against Russia are blocking the way. Even so, ExxonMobil through a Russian subsidiary is apparently still operating the Sakhalin I project, certainly in violation of the spirit of the sanctions and possibly in violation of the sanctions if they are illegally diverting equipment via subsidiaries. Is the US sanctions page intentionally murkier than Mississippi River mud? If the sanctions are dropped, and Tillerson Secretary of State, it appears…

Kukes: Russian Oil Magnate with Ties to Putin and Cheney Gave Almost $300,000 to Trump

Mining Awareness +

Who is this Simon Kukes who donated $275,700 to Trump’s Campaign? What does he want?
Kukes donations to Trump FEC gov
http://www.fec.gov/finance/disclosure/norindsea.shtml

People need to ask who this Simon aka Semyon aka Semen Kukes is, who appears to have had both close ties to Dick Cheney’s Halliburton and to have been at least tolerated by Putin, having replaced a Putin foe at Yukos. In April of 2000: http://www.exim.gov/news/ex-im-bank-approves-financing-for-us-oil-industry-exports-russias-tyumen-oil-company. In December 2004, Yukos’ core asset, Yuganskneftegaz, was confiscated and sold to Russian State owned Rosneft via an intermediary.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yukos

ExxonMobil’s Rex Tillerson and Rosneft aspirations to create a petroleum mega cartel is being partially blocked due to sanctions because of Russia’s invasion of Crimea. ExxonMobil operates and co-owns the Rosneft Sakhalin project, despite sanctions. (Tillerson, Trump’s Secretary of State nominee, only resigned as CEO less than one month ago). Trump has started fetching excuses to lift sanctions against Russia.

Job 1:1-12

It is the general opinion that Job flourished at some time between the age of Abraham and the time of Moses. It is probable that Moses wrote the sacred poem which records the discussion between Job and his friends. We shall therefore, in this place, consider his history, and gather a few gems from the remarkable book which bears his name.

Job 1:1

he was but a plain “man” and not a noble, yet was he more noble than the nobles of his time.

His character is given him by infallible inspiration, and surely no man could win a better. His life was well balanced and displayed all the virtues, both towards God and towards man.

Job 1:2-3

So that a rich man may be a good man, and though “gold and the gospel seldom do agree,” yet it may happen that a man of substance may also…

Japanese View of the Leyte Naval Battle

Pacific Paratrooper

usa-2838i

The following was published in “Senso: The Japanese Remember the Pacific War.”

Don’t Shoot at a Sinking Enemy

As a 25-year old seaman about a destroyer, I participated in the sea battle off Leyte.  In the midst of the battle, our destroyer was pursuing a fleeing aircraft carrier through squalls and curtains of smoke.  Suddenly a single enemy destroyer headed directly for us.  Attacked by the concentrated fire from our destroyer squadron, it rapidly went up in flames.  As we neared the enemy ship to see its last moment, it listed to one side, with flames rising everywhere.  It was about to sink.  Men were floating on the water’s surface or sinking beneath it, while half-naked crew members jammed themselves into lifeboats and rowed away, escaping.

We were close enough to see their unkempt beards and the tattoos on their arms.  One of our machine-gunners impulsively pulled his trigger.  He…

What I discovered yesterday about Illinois — Top school spending, Blacks without jobs, No-bargain taxation, Press-passing oddity, A grass-roots discussion

Blithe Spirit

1. Illinois education funding fight not about kids: Illinois Policy Institute – Opinion – Crain’s Chicago Business

ThinkStock

The fact is Illinois already spends $13,077 per student, more than any other Midwestern state: 37 percent more than Indiana, 32 percent more than Missouri and 17 percent more than Wisconsin.

If critics of education truly wanted more funding for classrooms, they’d push lawmakers to eliminate the many perks that drive up pensions. They’d demand a reduction in the hundreds of overlapping districts and the bureaucracies that run them. And they’d call for moderation in administrator pay.

Instead, they’re demanding more from struggling taxpayers, who already pay the highest property taxes in the nation.

2. Illinois ended 2016 with highest black unemployment rate of any state | Illinois Policy

illinois black unempolyment rate

Illinois is still home to the nation’s highest black unemployment rate, according to a new analysis from the Economic Policy Institute, or EPI. Illinois’…
