(Philosophy/Poem) Lord What Did You Say?

Lord What Did You Say?

This poem is derived from Biblical Scripture

I used Job 33:14-16 and Proverbs 6:16-19

Brother, what did the Lord say

You and I, are we deaf like Job

Did He speak to us once, or was it twice

In a dream, in a vision in the night

When deep sleep falls upon us

When we lay slumbering upon our bed

It is then that God opens the ears of man

The Lord sealing His instructions in our Soul

Seven things He tells us will seal Hell upon our deaths

Our proud looks and lying tongues we think we can hide

The innocent blood we shed with no remorse, care or tears

Our wicked ways not thinking of when our Soul is ripped away

From man these things we can conceal, but never from Him

To mischief deeds with fleet feet we run not caring who we trample

Upon the witness stand we lie to spill innocent blood just for fun

With little thought, lies and discord among our own family we spread

Then wonder why the cold grave turns to the heat of our eternal bed

Could it be because we did not heed the torments of Job in the visions

Nor the words or warnings the Lord in our sleep put into our head
